I noticed there was a shortage of entrepreneurs.  Has Kiva ever considered opening up the doors for Kiva Educators?  For instance, if someone has a community project idea, let them post a proposal on Kiva so Lenders could donate as well.  It could be a teaching people about business or community development.  The project proposal could be multidimensional as well, incorporating film, blogs, etc.

This is like a step beyond micro-financing.  It’s kind of a public works voluntary tax.  Kiva has the public intrigued by a new way of thinking of about money why not take the next leap.  The way Kiva is snowballing in the media, this could be revolutionary.

Kiva goes into great depth researching their Fellows.  If that same standard was held to people who applied for projects, maybe there could be two types of employees with Kiva: fellows finding individuals and entrepreneurs teaching locals about business and community projects.  The Educators could gain credibility, like on eBay.

I’m in the Peace Corps right now.  They have a program called Peace Corps Partnerships.  Volunteers submit a project and if the project gets approved by the string of administrators through Washington, it gets posted on the website.  I´m not trying to go behind Peace Corps back, but if Kiva and PCPP combined the two ideas of individual and social loans, they might have something.

My name is Brian.

I wanted to fix this URL because I found this site very interesting.

https://www.peacecorps.gov/resources/donors/contribute/regioncontrib.cfm?region=all

Thanks Brian for bringing it to my attention! Thumbs Up

I made my first donation on this site today...  then had to call and give the peace corp my thoughts! HAHA!!!!!

I suggested they : 1. create a way for the funds to process quicker so that once you donate the amount will reduce.  2. Suggested they try to model after KIVA in regards to participation in these individual projects.  Even with Just with a name and a note to the individual or area.

my input was received well...  and....  i informed two new people about KIVA.Org today in doing so!   Cool
