It appears that the fund won't be used to cover Kiva loans.  That is too bad; I love Prisma for going beyond Kiva's contract and having the borrower carry life insurance.  It is a minor consideration when I look at which partners I loan through.

Khang,

Can you point out to Kiva that "Tao Yeu Mai" is misspelled? Like you said it should be "Tao Yeu May" instead.

Yes, I've pointed it out to Naomi.
TYM stands for "Tao Yêu Mày", which translates literally to  "I love you".
But for all the vietnamese entrepreneurs, it is known as "Quỹ Tình thương", meaning "Affection Fund".

Something is not quite right about this rice noodle seller: http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=20972 that he just wishes to borrow only $62.50 and pay in 5 months. Insights, anyone?

ngungo, there are many loans to Viet Nam for $75 or $50 or even $25, and some of them pay back in 6 months.  Could you explain more about what you think isn't quite right with this loan?  I am guessing the amount was rounded up to the next $25 increment (from $62.50) since it's a $75 loan.

(PS: Henry, our definitions of "crucify" appear to be quite different.)

 Ngungo  Laugh

(Diane: crucify = make funny Grin)

Did you see the lender on that loan?  I wish there were more info on that group.  I like a group with a specific mission.   http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=lender&action=view&name=vietsosu&pageID=1

My guess would be that it is a group of students with Vietnamese heritage from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, but you may have figured that out already and been wondering about more specifics.  Smiley
