I had trouble seeing the differences between the options so I made a chart.

On a slightly different topic, would it be possible to "enhance" the picture of Mohamed Nyongesa Masinde, so it wouldn't look so "washed out?"

If Ruksana is on the cover, which I agree is a wonderful picture to represent Kiva and what they do, we have to consider who will take her place...it cant be Alexandra since Ecuador already has a place occuppied by someone, and a male at that.  Do we continue to go down the line of women until we arrive at one that has yet to have a country represented?  And what if that pic turns out to not be so great?

I voted for Alexandra on the cover instead of Ruksana, along with picture collection #2, so they could both be included in some capacity, because to lose one would be ashame, which is what would happen if Ruksana made the cover.  (unless changes were made once again, which could be never-ending).

But if we can vote to put Alexandra on the cover, while still voting for Photo Set 2 (which does not include her for a monthly feature), that would be my vote.

--Diane.

I agree hands down with Diane on this one.  High Five

My favorite set of photos is Option #2, for two particular reasons.

1)   I like including a boater on the water in the series because it is a prominent sector loan of Kiva
2)   The frowning baker of Tajikistan just doesn't look 'Kiva happy'.

By far the most colorful and perfectly framed image is of Alexandra Castro of Ecuador in Option #1.  She exudes 'Kiva happiness’ with that giant smile.  So my vote would definitely be to have Alexandra as our calendar girl on the front cover from Option #1, with Option #2 images in the main body.

Is this a possible option?  **crosses fingers**

Blimey you guys, I did try to suggest the vote was for a set of images - it might feel we are in a sweet shop but there are some issues to pick and mix.

If Alexandra was to be included then Armando goes and we have a tie between the two men we were grumbling over and hence option 2.  There does seem to be a circular feeling to some of this.

The set of 14 includes the cover plus all the months.
The question could be does Alexandra's smile make up for the frowns of the baker and bee keeper??

I know as a group we came to a consensus over the "rules" for images, and some could say rules are there to be broken - but that would make this process it even more difficult.

Ruksana came top of all the votes, and from the various threads seems to have a *very* good following (insert own joke about goats) to me she seems to be the ideal cover girl.

At the moment I have not adjusted colour balances or sharpened images - but that will be done.  It will mean Mohamed Nyongesa Masinde is less "washed out".

Alexandra to the cover!!! Otherwise we won't have her in at all...that makes it worth to have Ruksana inside (which is a GREAT KIva shot, no question).
