Thanks Diane, I had no idea what he was referring to by the way he described it, I thought he was referring to an actual entire quote..sorry robert, my fault.

I find not direction in the readings of those with whom my eccentricities are similar, but rather validation.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.

Yes, it's what Diane said: I meant the quotation mark. I'm still not really happy about it. The opening quote ( “ ) is Unicode x'201C', so the closing quote should be Unicode x'201D' ( ” ), i.e. using these entities:

<!ENTITY ldquo CDATA "“" -- left double quotation mark, U+201C ISOnum -->
<!ENTITY rdquo CDATA "”" -- right double quotation mark, U+201D ISOnum -->

Now the closing quote of #12 is just a neutral quote ( " ). If you copy-paste a closing quote from any of the other ones, you'll have it.

I just notice that #2 has also neutral quotes, both as opening and closing quote.

Robert,

I can reassure you that these will be uniformed in the course of final preparation. What I posted here where mostly copies of other sites and by this, they all looked different. I am glad you are pointing it out, but it will all be fine, once the final typo is applied to the quotes, so that they all look the same...

If anyone catch's it, I've asked Oli to remove my quote from the calendar. This was my request, and there are no issues 'open' or feelings hurt regarding this. Smiley

I am sorry that Henry will not be on the calendar, but Colette and I certainly accept his decision. His quote has been replaced by the following:

"Kiva has a certain resonance with people across the political spectrum, practically anyone with strong feelings about entrepreneurship, capitalism, social action, or individual choice. Couple that with vivid imagery, a kaleidoscope of inspirational stories, an elegantly designed interface and the low price of admission, and it is hardly surprising to see Kiva catching on in such a viral fashion."
StevePPS, Kiva lender

Thanks, Henry.

After being gone for waaaayyyy toooooo muuuuuucchhhh time from KivaFriends, I ordered the calendars last week. I got them delivered within a few days-- definitely FASTER than anything I get from Amazon or eBay! And then I turned to May... and to my surprise, I saw a quote! (Yes, I know-- I should have read this thread and I could have found it down here...)

Thanks for including that one. I feel honored to appear among greatnesses like Fiona Ramsey and Muhammed Yunus!

BTW-- no, I am not gone from Kiva or Kivafriends. Just quite dormant while working 70 hours long workweeks...

I too was surprised to see myself quoted in the calendar, Shocked but I don't at all mind. Smiley Your post made me look back at the history of the creation of this calendar, most of which took place while I was in Uganda. I'm amazed at all the work on the part of many people. Thanks The result is a calendar that looks fantastic! Hurrah

I'm glad you all don't mind seeing your quotes used...we figured it'd be okay since you posted them somewhere here or on KIva itself. It was fun finding the " right" mix of quotes for this precious thing called Kiva calendar 2008!!
