As of today, all e-mail addresses are now hidden on both the member list and member profile pages. Someone registered this morning that decided to go through the member list and randomly e-mail people a Nigerian scam message (the one where so and so was assassinated and needs YOUR help (and apparently everyone elses) to get millions of dollars out of the country into your personal bank account. As this place continues to grow, I see more of this garbage popping up and figured it would be best to cut it off before it really gets going. I apologize to those who received a message from that moron.

This change only effects those of you who chose to keep your e-mail address visible in your profile to registered users. It didn't seem to be a problem before, but once again, it appears the occasional spammer is registering just to see who has a public e-mail address.

Everyone has a private message function, please use that to contact people. It's also a good screening system to find out if people are legit. If someone needs your e-mail address, they can just ask you for it through there. Hopefully this will help keep this place spam-free and/or protect your e-mail address.

Also if anyone is dumb enough to send you a spam message to your PM box with their forum username, please let me know who they are so I can boot and ban them ASAP.

adonicaw,

that's from the person that Joe mentionned in his post. Don't answer, ignore it. Joe has taken appropriate steps. I received this kind of message via email from her....
