As you might know, World AIDS Day has been established to draw attention to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Millions are suffering from this disease.
Since November 2005, World Community Grid has had the great opportunity to support the innovative research underway at The Scripps Research Institute to advance the discovery of drugs which have the potential to treat and perhaps prevent the viruses involved in AIDS. This is the "FightAIDS@Home" that many of you run every day on your laptops and PCs for World Community Grid, helping us make progress against this horrible disease.
For World AIDS Day, we are honored to be hosting a live webcast with Dr. Alex Perryman from The Scripps Research Institute, where he will provide an overview and an update about the FightAIDS@Home project. The webcast will be on December 1, 2010, and it will start at 3:00PM Eastern Standard Time (USA) which is 20:00 Coordinated Universal Time.
The visual on the webcast will be a presentation and the voice will be Dr. Perryman. Time permitting, you will be able to ask questions via a text chat interface and Dr. Perryman will try to answer them.
