It started acting flaky for me about half an hour ago, and now I can't get to it at all.  The statistics box in the upper right here was filled with error messages a few minutes ago (blocking the rest of the site content here) and goes from filled to blank now.  Oh wait, I just got to kiva.org, and then I got a "site under maintenance" message.

I'm guessing the hamsters on the wheels at kiva.org went on a coffee break.  Wink  (No foul weather nor earthquakes here in the Bay Area, so we're clear on that issue!)  I assume it's not just me seeing the problem?

I also was just having trouble, completing a loan... 'my basket' would only load halfway and I couldn't get to the payment screen. Seems to be working now though, so maybe you're right about the hamsters, Diane.

I have been trying to post in one of my lendees journals for two days and keep getting the "oops" message from Kiva.  I emailed them today to ask when that problem will be fixed.

Me too, Steff  Pissy- though only today. Every once in a while I try again to send a message to one of my borrowers (I keep the message "copied" so it isn't too much a pain in the neck) but I get the same "Oops" that you do... or, alternatively, the little "wheel" that shows my computer is loading something just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning, till I give up.  Hope they get this fixed up soon.  I really like the fact that the first thing that shows now when I go to my lender page is "News for you" - tells that there are new journal entries for people in my portfolio. Thumbs Up

Where exactly are you seeing this message, "News for You" or is this reserved for premium members?  Wink

It's a new addition just below the "Welcome, [yourname]" greeting on the Overview page of your My Portfolio.  Whenever there's a journal entry (including the ones made by some South American MFIs, usually in Spanish, when a loan is disbursed), a line will show up in this "News for You" section with a link to the borrower's page and the date.

Does the whole section "News for You" only show up if there is a journal etc?
That area on our portfolio is totally blank, so I guess I'll have to wait for another journal to see it.

Dan

EDIT:  That would be a good place to also put the payment notices with a hot link.

Got a quick response from Liz that the engineers would look into it, maybe a bug.  But now my journal entry feature is working again so must have just been a small temporary glitch in the system.

Yes saw one like the other day... It ended up deducting from my paypal twice and not funding my entrepreneurs in my basket. Had to wait about 10 minutes before everything settled and I got heaps more kiva credit than expected (which soon disappeared within 24 hours anyway!) Smiley

Actually its the third time that I have had multiple deductions from paypal on one transaction since I started loaning late October... maybe they think that I will want more kiva credit anyway and just saving me the trouble of the transactions?? Laugh

Yes, Henry, I got the same error message today.  Didn't seem to cause a problem as far as I could make out.

 Huh?

I get that message a lot when I'm reading the Washington Post on line. I figured it's an IE thing.

Same error on November 22 using IE. The loan and the Paypal transaction went through without error. Oddly enough, the thanks page with the borrower's name displayed successfully.
