Help needed! I use Christopher's sytem, on Open Office. A month ago, when I last exported,  it was great - everything I needed and nothing I didn't need. I have just exported my loans again, and it is a disaster. The Loan Details show 'You Loaned' all as Err.502, and 'Paid back' all as $25.00. On the 'Summary', all Amounts are $0. Arrears amounts, Arrears months and Total arrears at risk, are all blank. On 'Statistics' 'Loans by Country' shows columns I to DV with odd amounts at the top of the column and various figures in columns and against various countries. I have discarded the changes and am back where I was before, but of course it is all a month out of date. Can some kind person identify the problem and tell me, in words of one syllable, how to put it right, and preferable revert to how the system was a month ago - I do not want Team info or any other extra info - just the way it was. I'd be very grateful.

Howard

If you are using Christopher's original spreadsheet, it has not been updated to recognise the "Team" column that has been added into the Loan export file, and that is (probably) causing the problem.

The easiest way around the problem is to delete the "Team" column from the export file, prior to copying it into the spreadsheet.  Then the export file will look how it used to look, and the spreadsheet will be able to cope.

Thank you Ian. I have sent you 2 PMs on the subject, and have now seen pages 18 and 19 of this thread.

Howard

PROBLEM FIXED! Thank you, Ian.

Howard,

Another option besides ignoring the team data is to try an adaption to Christopher's spreadsheet I made that takes teams into account.  The most recent post about that is here.

Thank you, Richard. Duly noted. However, for the moment I have no need for Team info, and, since Ian's advice seems to be successful, I'll stick with that. If there are further problems, I'll try your suggestion. Thanks again, and good hunting tomorrow.

Howard,
what Richard meant (I assume) is that when using his spreadsheet (provided it is compatible with OpenOffice) you wouldn't have to cut out the "Team Column" every time because he adjusted his spreadsheet for its existence. It's not about providing much extra Team info.

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

OK, thanks Wolfgang - I'll give it a try. However, cutting out column F takes only a few seconds, and it's not something I need very often.

Regards, and I hope you find what you want tomorrow.

Hi, I am having the same problem, regardless of whether I delete the Team column.  I have the same problem on Excel and Open Office. Huh?

Hi Katherine,

have you deleted the F column of the export or just its contents?

Anyway, I suggest you try Richard's amended and updated version attached to this post here: http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,1301.msg52616.html#msg52616

or - IMHO even better, but restricted to Excel, Windows PCs and requiring Macros - Ian's spreadsheet, latest version 1.1 attached to this post here: http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,3153.msg53177.html#msg53177

With these, you don't need to edit the export files in any way.

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.
