Oh, yes, Geoff, I appreciate that all these matters sort themselves out in due course - loans emerge in time from the FP page back to general availability, and the blocked amount (75% in this case at that time) becomes freely available again to lenders. But wouldn't it be so much better if the whole loan was freely available to everyone from initial placement to a genuine 'Raised 100%'?

The loan is now 93% funded with, so far, 54 different lenders (looks like some KivaFriends on the loan too) & was showing $25 available. So even while "hidden"(??   Thinking) on the FP page people are still being able to loan to the El Esfuerzo De Teno Group. Hurrah Confetti   Yahoo!

As my dear, departed mother used to say, "It must be one of god's small miracles."   Angel Roll Eyes  Wink
And yes, I for one am happy with "this state of affairs".

The people who have the loan basketed can complete the transaction and make the loan.

When there are so few loans, and so many many lenders, I can see that lots of people would basket it immediately. Most of those folks probably complete the transaction pretty quickly, or at least within an hour or two. So while the loan is hidden or fogged, it is still collecting lenders.

Newbies must complete the new account and transfer from PayPal.  This may take a bit longer, especially if one isn't used to such transactions.  A couple days ago we fretted over expiring loans, and now lack of availability.  Midnight tonight we should have LOTS to choose from, and any temporary basket holding will go unnoticed.  However, I predict that by the end of January we will be out of loans again.

Yeah, the last minute lenders have a rest!

I think it's WONDERFUL !!!

I haven't made a loan this week...

each time I looked the last couple of days, there would be a couple of loans that faded as I watched Smiley

WHAT A JOY !

I warned my gift certificate people to not bother till the new year...

We all *know* there are loans waiting in the wings...  Cool
