I'm more determined, I guess...was able to grab $25 but released them soon after I realized I'll be spending $100 on Gift Certificates for Christmas already, so don't have the funds for this one...though I'd have loved to be with you guys on it! Undecided

I really am sorry if you weren't ready to make any loans, today, but I just now saw this one, and well.......
http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=27754

Koffi Assamua - Togo
You know, you can appreciate it without having to loan to it.  We all know that Koffi A. will get funded,
and that he will get funded really quickly, with or without us.....

EDIT:        It was probably inevitable, immediately after I posted this, that I'd start having qualms about it,
as in -- Is there something either hypocritical or just plain unkind of me to dangle enticing loans
out in front of you, particularly after I raised and quite deeply felt the concerns I articulated
in the Addictions thread, yesterday?   If anyone wants to stick-it-to-me or
suggest that maybe it would be a good idea to keep what I consider choice loans to myself, please
feel free to PM me about it, and chances are that I will seriously consider what you might have to say.

Oh man, that is completely and totally excellent, Jill... darn. I now have EIGHT loans that have completed since last week and NO KIVA CREDIT from any of them!  But I promised I would not add more cash this year so...  I guess I'll try to keep a loan in my basket and see if credit comes through today by some chance.... (hope, hope, hope)

Jill, I am indeed dealing with the idea of being addicted to Kiva. However, I'm also working on getting lovely loans as Christmas presents for those near and dear to me. You might not believe this, but that loan is PERFECT for my father. Thank you for bringing that to my attention!!

I'm not an addict, I can handle it. Dangle away.

Diane said it all: Oh man, that is completely and totally excellent, Jill...

I've sent email to Kiva asking if there's any chance any of my credits will show up today, but I know they're busy, so...  anybody feel like giving me a gift certificate which I can pay back via a GC of your own once I get my credits?  Cheesy

(Ah, the lengths we will go to feed our desires...  But at least we're being *aware* about it now!)

A Christmas Elf has visited!  I shall now add Koffi Assamua to our portfolio... and repay once those pesky sluggish credits come rolling in! THANK YOU, Elf!   Give Rose)

I got in on that one thanks to your post Jill, and just in time...thanks so much for bringing that to our attention...I absolutely adore anyone who works with their creative side...even if it may or may not be a highly successful business idea, I simply have to support the arts as often as I can.  Maybe its cultural promotion in a world that is so often forced to deny or sacrifice its cultural identities...some believe we will only have peace and understanding and respect when we all think, feel, live, and exist in more or less the same way, with the same methods, the same patterns, the same traditions....supporting the arts to me is supporting the idea of attaining a real worldly peace by upholding our cultural differences and opposing the idea of the necessity of a single secular world void of creative and traditional differences.

I find not direction in the readings of those with whom my eccentricities are similar, but rather validation.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.
