hi all, this is my first post and my first experiences with kiva.

i loanded to this group and i'm sad to think that this loan might not get funded.  there just seems to be something very special about these women.  they look to be good friends and good working partners.

“Talita Kurmi” is a group of 11 women who attend meetings in the “Alto Lima” Center. They meet to secure access to the loan that they all need to increase their working capital for various enterprises including the sale of vegetables, cookies, spun wool, operating neighborhood stores and creating jewelry crafts.

They are aware that they have many competitors and need to be better than them by having excellent customer service and offering high quality products. A clear example is Maria Poma, 48 years old, a married mother of 4 children who owns a neighborhood store. The thing that most caught the attention of “Pro Mujer” is the attentiveness in the store and the ability to save. With the loan, she will buy mostly oil and noodles.

Welcome to KivaFriends (and Kiva) Dinah. Welcome

I wouldn't panic yet about the loan going unfunded.  Most people are a bit broke at this time of the month but, once the early credits start appearing in our accounts (hopefully on the morning of January 15) for the "due by end-of-January" repayments, the loan will start to get funded fairly quickly.

It will be very unlikely for any loans to expire unfunded this month.

You will know you are seriously addicted when you start putting notes into your "Kiva" jar, and using your leftover coins to buy the groceries!

New KivaFriend Rene asked some questions in another thread about pre-disbursed loans and repayment, and I followed the link to the loan he was using as an example.  The loan is to Julio in Cusco, Peru, who has a pizzeria.  I just loved this part of the write-up (and then decided to join the loan):

"The member is thankful and expresses his satisfaction for being able to continue to grow his business. He sends a long-distance hug to the contributors to his dream."
("El socio agradece y expresa su satisfacción de poder seguir creciendo con su negocio propio y les envía a sus colaboradores en este sueño un fuerte abrazo a la distancia.")

(Now I want a slice of pizza....)
