There are a few online random number generators if you need one. Like this:

Thanks, I looked into those, and found the football pool website - I'm prepared if it fails - Two kiva friends with no entries have given me a set of backup numbers to use.  The prizes have been assigned locations on the grid via a combination of 6 kivafriends input.  I'm almost ready!!!

The names and final location of all entry's will be created using google.com and giving each name a random number between 1000 and 1000000 - then a sort low to high.  Then those names will be reinserted into the grid left right, next row, on an on till grid is filled, then start the next row and do the same again.  Ahh, cut and paste fun!!!

Complete explanation of how things worked will be on the grid sheet, along with backup information from the input of the people who helped create the prize locations.

(yes, it's giving me a headache too!  but with the large number of prizes, had to do away with our initial plan to use kiva stats to determine the prize locations - too many formulas would have been involved @20!)

The final outcome will be completely 'Transparent' -  Laugh  just like KIVA.org!

Great success!  Nice numbers and an incredible job Henry and all contributors/participants!

Yes it is! and today would be the day to make sure you received a PM from me regarding your entries.  If you sent me a GC and did not receive a PM back saying we got it, please contact me.  I'm pretty sure I've got them all, but just a double check!

Thanks everyone for allowing this wraggle to go on!!

ok, my last post for the day!

If your interested in the wraggle, just email hdpittman@bellsouth.net a GC for the amount of entries you'd like (the GC's are redeemed into the KF Quilt KIVA Account).  $5 per entry.  Minimum of 5 entries and max of 40 per Registered KIVA Name.

Thanks from all of us!!!  it's getting closer!!!

I'm happy to report the final fund balances for the wraggle. It's now too late to enter!

Entries for KF-Fund:                        $2,000
Entries for KIVA.org donation:             $ 400
Total of all Entries :                 $2,400

From this $2,400 there has been $400 via donations sent to KIVA.org for their operating expenses.

There will be another $400 sent to Joe for help paying for the KIVAFriends site.

The remaining funds plus the very generous 'match' by our anonymous donor will be deposited into the KF Quilt Fund on KIVA.org and will be managed and handled by Rebecca (reb-mar) and Margie (Margie) along with the other 2 or 3 committee members - which have been selected by Margie and Reb to work with.  These additional members were nominated by some of the quilters.  Reb and Margie can announce them when they are ready.

The remaining moneys might be reduced by some shipping (slow boat please) cost for the prizes.

Tomorrow, the names will be sorted randomly and placed into the football pool grid - the official result of where the numbers are on the grid will be 8:00 PM (EST/EDT), 11/1/2008 Saturday night.   After this time on Saturday you should be able to log into the website that is creating these numbers to view them.  Here is the site:

http://www.poolhost.com/index.asp?page=login.asp

Login:   kivafriends     Password:  friend
Then click “My Pools” and “Quilt of Dreams”

(really not sure how that will work, but I'll be taking a snapshot and posting it here as well) and we have a backup set of numbers that were given prior to the drawing or resort to use in the event something goes haywire with this plan.

I'll then highlight in Red the winners of each prize on the grid located here: http://www.kivashoppingclub.com/sweeps/quiltsweepstakes_files/Page332.htm
and make a list of each prize and it's winner and post that here also.

At that point, I hope each person who donated a prize will Privately PM the winners and make arrangements for delivery of the prize.  Each person who donated a prize may ask for a reimbursement for shipping (slow most economical shipping of course) of the prizes - please do if you incur an expense!  Just contact me via PM and we will work out the reimbursement.  Any expense over $30 we should discuss first - please contact me.

That about covers it, after the wraggle is over, I'll open up a spreadsheet that has all the information and sorting history regarding the names into the squares.

Thanks again for watching and helping!  Keep your eyes open for projects or ideas to help deplete this fund over the next 14 -16 months!   I already hope a certain school will benefit!  Wink

Henry

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!
