I love 43things.com, and I was wondering if any KivaFriends go there? If you're not familiar with the site, it lets you list up to 43 things (at at time) that you want to accomplish. You can also write entries about your progress and meet up with others who are trying to do the same things you are. You can give an receive cheers for encouragement. It's a lot of fun. If you have an account, let me know. Here's my page, http://www.43things.com/person/artlover11

"We are visitors on this planet. We are here for 90 or 100 years at the very most. During that period, we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives. If you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true goal, the true meaning of life." ~ HH, the 14th Dalai Lama

Ive seen something similar Nicole, or maybe it was the same site....had to do with people who have certain goals in life and lists you in a category with all the other people who have the same goal...enabling contact between people that share similar outlooks and hopes pertaining to that particular goal...sounds pretty interesting...great way to mobilize people and draw some very direct lines of contact for an innumerable number of agendas....I want to bike cross country this summer or next, anyone on there looking to do the same?   Grin

I find not direction in the readings of those with whom my eccentricities are similar, but rather validation.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.

If it's adventure you want, you might apply to be a Kiva Fellow.

Ive thought about that but I dont think thats something I am prepared for yet, considering I would want to do something like that for quite a bit longer than the 10 week minimum...I think I have a lot to learn and see before I am capable of fulfilling the obligations of what I would want to be a long term Kiva Fellow.  Its like any other thing in life you have to feel "ready" for, or "Called" to.  Maybe I need some prodding or someone to partner with...or maybe there is someone else who also needs some prodding and to partner with....I bet I could find them on Nicole's 43things site.  Wink

I read your list, Nicole, and thought it was interesting. I bet you can check off being a good mom, and being a good wife!

Glad to see having a budget is on the list. If you've never been through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, I highly recommend it. Or, at least opt to read his book, Total Money Makeover. By having a written financial plan, and living within your means, you will be able to reach many more of your goals much quicker ... including having more to give or loan via Kiva.

It's a great idea, the 43things, because we are so much more likely to reach our goals and dreams if we write it down, have a plan, and have a support network. I searched around other people's pages, and was touched at some of the goals, like "having a best friend" -- I have grown apart from my best friend of 30 years, and that one really tugged at my heartstrings.

Thanks for sharing.
