It is heartening but strikes me as odd that there is more money available than people to lend it too. Does this happen often?
Second I have seen a lot of crafts people. Is there any one out there we might get a lap top and digital camera to, to allow these folks direct access to ebay to eliminate some of the middle men and allow them to get the true value of their work?

Hello again....it only seems like there is more money available than lenders...but if you look at the stats you will see that there was a surge of lending on Christmas day and the next day as well as I am sure the gift certificates were given and shared with alot of new kiva lenders....there is always this kind of surge when an "event" takes place such as Kiva on Oprah or the Today Show....also it is the end of the month which means some of the MFI's have used up their allotment for the month and have to wait for the beginning of the month to post new loans....so give it a few days and there should be a bunch of new loans available and a better assortment than may be offered right now.

One of those "events" was a repeat broadcast--in the last few days--of that Frontline/World segment on some PBS stations! Yahoo!

Hey Gramps, here is a little bit of discussion about funding the arts and crafts type of loans.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.
