Hey Henry!

Do you leave the grapes whole or slice them in halves. I love anything with cream cheese in it. Yum!

This isn't deserving of the real topic...but thought I'd share a funny recipe I found lately.

Category: Poultry
Recipe Title: NEW TURKEY DRESSING

Ingredients:
4 c. crushed dry bread
1/2 c. sage
1/4 c. onions
1/2 c. celery
1/2 c. uncooked popcorn
1 tsp. salt
5 c. broth

Mix well, stuff turkey.  Cook 5 hours at 300 or until the popcorn blows the ass off the turkey.

Hey Michael, your split pea soup sounds deeelish, but if someone were wanting to watch their weight (or even go so far as to *lose* weight) in the new year, something with cups of heavy cream in it might not be the way to proceed.  Have you or anyone else tried the recipe with, say, non-fat milk instead of heavy cream?  If so, is it at least passable that way?  (So seldom is something delicious that way, but I'll take passable, since I'm counting my WW points this year.)  Thanks!

--Diane (who is thinking she ought to post a few of her own recipes, all of which are pre-screened for healthfulness and I'm assured they are all totally tasty.... and oh yeah, I've already written a college student cookbook, maybe I should just include some of those recipes here?  I do plan to open a B&B after I retire from the corporate world, you know, and would plan to offer a limited dinner menu as part of the venture.)

(PS:  I have a cinnamon crumb cake in the oven right now, mmmmmmm smells great!  I, however, won't be eating much of it, given its caloric content, sigh...)
