By request of folks in chat today, since I was drooling verbally while a loaf was baking in my oven...

Diane's adaptation of Grandmother Storch's Banana-Pecan Bread recipe

3 ripe/over-ripe bananas
1+ cups of well chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts, and I use at least 1.5 cups)

1 stick of butter or margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease a bread pan or other loaf pan and tap a little flour around on the walls then dump off the excess.
Grind up the pecans very well, not to the point of powder but not big chunks either.
Mash up the bananas very well in a small bowl.
Mix the nuts into the bananas so there are no chunks of fruit left and the nuts are well distributed.  (<-- This is the secret of the excellence of this recipe.)

In a new larger bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
Mix in the eggs.
If you have a sifter, sift the flour with the salt and baking soda into the large bowl, otherwise just stir them in (being careful not to clump up the baking soda in one spot).
Dump in the small bowl of banana-nut mixture and stir the whole thing until the flour and bananas are well mixed and there are no dry bits left.

Empty into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake at 350F for ONE HOUR.  Take it out at that point and test its doneness with a toothpick or fork in the top -- if it emerges sticky at all, it's not done, put it back in for 5-10 minutes and test again.  If the top is getting too dark, turn the heat down a little, or move the loaf to a cooler part of the oven.

When the tester comes out clean, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool on a rack for a few minutes before removing the loaf from the pan to cool further.  This will keep for several days of very yummy slicing and eating.

Does anyone have a tried and true recipe for LEMON STRAWS?   I'm looking for one that you have used several times and know for a fact they are a winner??

Need to make some for Sunday.

Thanks if anyone shares one.
