I do not have my paypal account tied to my bank account at all. When I make a payment I pay in the currency of the seller. when I pay Kiva, I don't even log into paypal I just make a direct CC payment.

I refuse to give paypal my bank account info.

How do you pay Kiva without logging into Paypal? Kiva automatically takes me to Paypal.

I think we technically do log in to PayPal, but choose the "pay with credit card" option instead of opening a PayPal account.  We too are cautious about linking PayPal to our bank account.

That's what I do, too. Can't see a reason to link to my bank account, as I don't use it for great sums.

Dottie, When I arrive on the Paypal screen there is the box to log in... alternatively there's an option to pay with a credit card without logging in.... I use that option. Down side is you have to fill in your address and other info from scratch.

so, do you mean that your account on paypal is both CAN$ and US$ , your visa in on a CAN$ account, and you are able to have paypal getting US$? if so, i would be very grateful if you can suggest me how to achive this, as i'm not able...
many thanks
ciao

I think I have USD set to my default in Paypal, even though I'm Canadian. I prefer to take the currency of the seller and have Visa convert it- I get a better rate.

Yes, you can use multiple currencies.

A few days ago I made 2 loans on the same day.

The first loan I did the normal way from my creditcard with the paypal exchangerate. $25 was €17,37.

For the second loan I charged $25 from my creditcard, and let mastercard convert it, that tuned out to be €17, 30

So it does make a difference, it might not be huge but is worth knowing.
