Hi, KLI - I'm sorry about your troubles. I'm afraid, though, that you do not qualify for a Kiva loan. Kiva loans are only given through small lending organizations that have been looked at carefully and then approved by Kiva. They are only in a relatively small number of developing countries at this time, though the number of countries keeps increasing. None are in the United States. Please check kiva.org (partners page) for the organizations that handle these loans at present.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR REPLY. I DID RESEARCH KIVA, I WAS NOT CLEAR IF THE UNITED STATES WAS ONE OF THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES JUST YET. THANKS FOR THE CLARITY. I WILL CONTINUE TO REVIEW THE SITE TO BECOME FILIMAR WITH ALL THAT THE ORGANAZATION DOES.

There are microfinance organizations that work within the United states. The only one I know anything about is prosper.com but there are others.
