Hello all Kiva Friends,

I am reposting these 3 videos that I had posted yesterday & that have apparently been removed/censored by someone here who has the authority to do so.

The odd thing is that they were removed without anyone informing me of the decision to do so.

Here are the videos:

I am at a loss as to:

1) Why these videos were censored

AND

2) Why I was not contacted/informed of this decision and the reasons why this decision was made.

I am fearful that this posting will also be deleted without mention or cause and that

1) I will not be informed of the decision or of the reasons why it was made

AND

2) That most, if not all, Kiva Friends will remain unaware that Big Brother is watching & your posts are subject to censorship without cause or due process.

Apparently some here have learned a lot from, and take comfort in, the practices of the Bush/Cheney administration of the last 8 years.

Hi, and thanks Geoff, for making us aware of this.

Could a moderator please take the time and explain the decision (1) to remove the post (2) without any indication that this has happened and (3) without contacting the author first?

I think the steps (2) and (3) should be "best practice" in general, and I somehow doubt that there was any acceptable reason for the decision (1) at all. The post did IMHO not contravene the Terms of Use.

Maybe, and I seriously hope that this is the case, it was just a mistake that happened when moving the post to another thread? (the Palin videos weren't exactly "Music We Love"...)

Maybe someone who doesnt want the word to get out that Alaska is where we should go when the world explodes edited your post.  It's best that secret not get out to the public at large....sssshhhhhhhhhhh

I am flabbergasted that those videos were removed.
I actually put all 3 in the same thread instead of splitting them (first 2 in Videos/Movies We Love & the 3rd in the Music We Love) because I wanted all 3 to be posted together.
The fact that the Gospel song, Open Our Eyes, was also removed I find remarkable.
I am not sure whether or not a moderator might be able to only remove a portion of a post.
I made a comment in the original post about how I hoped people would open their eyes & chose wisely before they vote; that is why I felt that that particular Gospel song was relevant. Also, I have liked that particular song & rendition of it for the lasts 30+ years.
It also showed IMHO that I am not opposed to religious or christian values. I also enjoy Gospel songs by Mahalia Jackson, Yolanda Adams, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, The Staple Singers, The Commodores as well as others.

I hope other Kiva Friends and/or members from the Atheist, Buddhist, Humanist, Bahai, Jewish and/or other teams don't show up & object to these overtly christian songs/videos.

Although I can certainly understand how these songs in praise of a christian god might conflict with their deeply held beliefs & could be found offensive (and therefore should be removed).

Until then I will keep my fingers (and toes) crossed (pun intended) 

Please, please, please don't anyone tell them that I posted this here.
