All I can say about this outstanding effort is...

geek pride FTW

(EDIT:  It's worth visiting the actual youtube link to read about the equipment and process used, in the right-hand "more info.." area.  To do that, double-click on the video above and you'll be taken to the youtube page.)

 Thumbs Up

Diane - that was a work of art put together by a dedicated artist with way too much time on his/her hands...

shame it's not my kind of music - I found it actually painful to listen to Smiley

jan (who thought her son was a geek - but no comparison here at all )

I try to share a little story. The first language I learn was American Sign Language (ASL) probably been 25 years ago. Sadly, I never used it enough to become fluent.  Sad
In class, we would discuss languages around the world and what we felt was a universal language. Most people agreed it was English. For myself I believe it is music.

The music sounds the same in any language.

Everyone... everywhere... it's universal.
I won't be afraid, just as long as you stand by me.

Diane that is too cool girl!!  Thumbs Up
When people can share together like that it bring tears to my eyes!  Cry

Back when I was a good looking, lean, mean, sex machine (I'll tell everyone more of this later) we would go to the "Square" in Memphis, Tennessee. There a lot of clubs and people stagger from club to the other.
There also this little square or park where people play music or express themselves artistically. I would always bring a Harmonic and you just walk up and join in, it was the accepted thing to do back then! Heck, people would pat me on the back  (in a Diplomatic way) and say; "maybe one day you get better"!
It was always fun and though people try to leave when they see me coming (But, could not resist staying) they would plug their ears and smile gracefully.
I was so excited. I moved up to Bluegrass music in Mountain View, Arkansas and would sit in at the courthouse on Friday nights and play my Jews Harp. Heck, where you think Pink Floyd got their inspiration? After they hear me, Thanks they were inspired to go to New Orleans, Louisiana (Another story I share later), but, before they left, they pat me on the back (in a Diplomatic way) and said, "maybe one day you get better".
Yea, sharing the love of music, no matter where we live in this world or language we speak, we can read and understand a people. This how I see the video, one world, together with no barriers separating us. I hear it only a dream, but, in my heart, I know it is possible! "We Are the World"  Declare and that includes everyone!  Welcome

Smiley   Yes, yes indeed.

Just checking, Wolfgang, you *do* know that originally the song referred to an earlier bail-out, yes?  Smiley

Indeed I do, Diane - the music to that video is taken from the great Arlo Guthrie/Pete Seeger live album "Precious Friend" (1982), that I am listening to, right now.

It also features an - admittedly rather strange - version of David Mallett's Garden Song.

Here's the original:

probably best known in John Denver's Muppet Show version:

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.
