Sad to say I was just rereading a journal entry of a loan I funded and found a most unpleasant comment, which was not really related to the journal at all, but simply pornographic chatter. Disgusting! I sent an email via "contact us" but if anyone has a suggestion on how I can insure it gets prompt attention from Kiva staff, please let me know. It was posted on March 5.
Strictly speaking, this post would fit well in "journal entries that make an impact" but I didn't want to 'contaminate' that thread with such unpleasantness. Hopefully this thread will serve it's purpose and no longer be relevant.

I was writing to Liz about something else at a Gmail account they use there for established queries, and included reference to this issue as well (with a link to the loan), in case the Gmail account gets checked sooner.

Eliz and Peter,
I sent an email to Asawari asking her to deal with it or pass it on to the person who handles partners in that region. Hopefully, our efforts to contact Kiva get it to the correct person.

Asawari has replied that it will be handled by Kiva today! It took just minutes to get her reply! Customer service is going way up at Kiva.

yes - it's getting fixed, but is Asawari (Microfinance Partnerships Manager) in customer service, or did you go around the proper channels?

Henry, I thought the Partnership Managers would have a vested interest in having their client records be appropriate. Not having the email of the person who represents the region, I asked Asawari to please deal with it or pass it on. I trust her judgment to get it to the right person. Kiva is working together, and part of customer service is taking something important to the organization and passing the issue to the correct person. If I made an error in judgment, they can take away my bonus!  Colette

I'm glad it has been removed so quickly. I hope that this will be the final time something like this happens. I hope they see the suggestion Peter S made today regarding the journal entries and putting an end to this. Seems like an easy fix, however, I'm sure it's more involved with the programming than I understand. Keeping fingers crossed! Colette, could that bonus even pay for the Kleenex you've used this past week!
