One problem I see for major tourism expansion is the fact that it is hard physical labour to climb to the top of these hills. I don't see how many people can do that. I really don't want Botswana to set up stairs or something to make it easier. It would totally ruin the place...

Perhaps, if I went, I could arrange to get carried, like Diane did in Peru  Laugh
(although I wouldn't want to have Diane's reason  Cry

for now I will have to be satisfied with my internet enjoyment.

thanks for pointing us in that direction, Oli

The feeling of deep spiritual connection in these ancient landscapes is so very powerful.  Thank you for posting the photos, Oli, and for including your research on the legends and findings about the site.  It's fascinating to learn insights and think more deeply about the places you've been!

Oh, and just as an aside....

Just to set the record straight, I was never carried UPHILL -- I would not allow that, it would have been too taxing on those who were there to help me.  (On those, I took the slow "two steps per step" approach and made slow but steady progress.)  Rather it was on the treacherous downhills, which I would not have been able to navigate with a sprained ankle, where I was "ported down".
