Kiva gifts are an awesome way to make a loan.

The money spent for the gift is fully lent by the recipient of the gift, and in the process the recipient of the gift, who may have never heard of Kiva, went through the process, got to know the site and the process, and hopefully got hooked, lending some of her money (e.g., via kiva gifts).

For this reason I think we ought to encourage kiva gifts as much as possible. Furthermore, it is truly simple:
1. Usually, people want others to know of their impact and generosity. But currently... if you gave (say) 10 kiva gifts, having a substantial impact, and somebody visits your Lenders Page, she'll know nothing of it. We could easily add this information, mentioning the entrepreneurs who received the loan that originated from your gift, and increasing the motivation for lenders to use this incredible tool.
2. Moreover, once the recipients of your gifts redeem them and/or make a loan, you don't have the option of being automatically notified. Again, this is easy to change...

May The Best Of Our Past Be The Worst Of Our Future,
Haggai.
