I think it would be a great idea to allow lenders to post new project ideas and loan amounts/terms to enable potential Kiva entrepreneurs the opportunity to start a new business.  Often, lenders have good ideas for new microbusinesses.  Just a thought!

Welcome Brendan.  While this has merit in some arena, since Kiva always uses local Field Partners (MFIs) to initiate and service entrepreneur loans, there really isn't much that can be done here from this end.  I am sure there are other arenas where MFIs themselves look for new projects and ideas.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the comment. However, I think this could work within the current system at Kiva. This would give Field Partners an opportunity to match entrepreneurs up with those new ideas.  I work on the field side of things (not necessarily with Kiva) and know that it is not only money that is the issue, sometimes it is the actual new and innovative business ideas and plans that are needed as well.

Kiva is such a wellspring of information and the central (an increasingly popular) gathering point for those giving, those facilitating and those receiving the loans, why make them go somewhere else for that information.  Do you know of another site specifically that is providing the type of service I mentioned?  Huh?  I am not aware of one.

Thanks again for the feedback.  Ths forum is a good idea to bounce things off each other and hear what others have to say.  Have a great day!
