Henry... When I say "faith based" I am referring to our (One Horizon Foundation's) affiliation with the Christian faith, though no specific "denomination" or particular outlook.....some of our grants go to "secular" organizations working on environmental or social justice related issues....for example, our involvement with Kiva does not have anything to do with supporting a specific religious agenda, even though it arises (for us) out of our belief that adressing the reality of poverty and injustice was part of the core teaching of Jesus...our aim is to promote cooperative action for the common good, and even though we believe the framework of our faith is the best point of departure for that work, it is certainly not, nor can it be, limited to that perspective ...the community to which I belong is called "Communality," and is an independent Christian community that is part of a larger grass-roots "progressive" movement to try to raise questions about what the Christian faith really means for our life in the world and how the "church" should operate within the wider society and culture....one expression of this movement in which we have been deeply involved is called "New Monasticism" and can be found online by googling those words.....another excellent primer on the movement is my friends Shane Claiborne's book "The Irresistible Revolution".....anyhow, I hope that this helps to further clarify things for you. Keep going.............Bill

I couldn't possibly post anything on the Kivapedia without a first hand look at your operation (did you see where he is located?) Queen Of course you realize that a registered business in the Bahamas doesn't mean its primary people are there. Almost seems that they have more presence in Kentucky than in the Bahamas. And by the way, Welcome Bill, to Kiva Friends. You'll find all kinds here, but more importantly also a wealth of information surrounding Kiva and its workings. Dan

Dan....thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it........and your observation about having a greater presence in Kentucky though being registered in the Bahamas is astute.......we are an international foundation registered in the Bahamas but at this point a majority of our grant funding is concentrated here locally in Lexington, Kentucky......we are seeking to maintain that local focus as we move outward, assisting organizations in other areas of the country and around the world, which is our ultimate goal......the vision for One Horizon Foundation grew out of my involvement over the last decade with several close friends who helped begin the "Communality" faith community to which I currently belong.....that is why a lot of our grant funding with OHF begins here in Lexington and "moves" out from here......though most of the investing that we do on the endowment side is international in scope. Thanks.......Bill

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, but it seems to be where people asked about it before...
I tried to put the code in to add "Kiva Friend" to my Kiva profile, and I think I broke it. The link works, but all the code is displaying, and when I go to try to change it, or at least delete it, most of the code appears outside of the entry box on the form, such that it is not deletable. Are there any geeky-type people out there who can fix it?
Thanks!

Sarah, probably I will not be able to help you, but I just tried to access your lender page (by the link in your KF profile) to have a look at the problem, and the link did not work. Maybe you can check and if necessary update it so that we can have a look at your Kiva lender page? That might help the geeky-type people to assess the problem.
Take care and good luck, Wolfgang.
