If I had to guess, I would guess that you cut and pasted the KivaFriends link from somewhere and it picked up a lot of extra HTML code. This happens to me (annoyingly so) when I cut and past links out of my Eudora email application. To fix, try this. Go here: https://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=account&action=infoErase whatever is in the city field and then just type the following in the city field (do not cut and paste): http://KivaFriends.orgAnd then click Save New Personal Info. Let me know what happens when you do that. Thanks, -Scott

Hi Sarah I am not a geek (I hope.. ) but currently what you need to do to get the KivaFriends link on your Kiva page is summarized here (by Scott, who is kind of geeky on occasion..) (and has just replied, I see on preview.... ) : http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,2080.msg33532.html#msg33532From looking at your Kiva profile, I think you might have been following some outdated instructions for adding the KivaFriends link at a time when Kiva prevented people from adding external links directly to the profile address fields. And somehow or other .../sarah1319 there had become .../sarah1316x on your KivaFriends profile. Peter

Hello recent member Yelena! Welcome to the forum. I noticed in your profile you have this question: HI, I just heard about KIVA through a friend's e-mail and I have a question for anone who may know . My son (almost 18) is interested in volunteering in Mongolia for some time next year, and I'm wondering if KIVA has a way to use him in mongolia to help get their services set up with the XAC Bank which I understand is beginning a pilot project with KIVA there. does anyone know even who I would ask to find out more about this possibility. We live in Australia. Many thanks for any suggestions Yelena Here is a link to the KIVA.org website where you can learn more about the KIVA Fellows program (there is also a place to apply): http://www.kiva.org/about/fellows-program/I wish him luck! I can't think of many better experiences! and again, welcome to the forum! Henry

Just clicked on the name of the newest member of the Forum, Pablito, and out of curiosity, made a quick visit to the link he’d included on his Lender page. http://www.kiva.org/lender/pablito8486. I only took a minute, but in that minute what I saw was super-interesting to me. In addition to some wonderful pictures, references to all kinds of (for me) fascinating resources, it also included a “Video of an Israeli and a Palestinian woman singing “We can Work It Out.”So, Pablito, if you get a chance to see this post, I wanted to tell you, “Welcome! I believe that a whole bunch of us will look forward with great anticipation to your becoming involved, here, and to your letting your voice be resoundingly heard.” Best, Jill As an aside, I just noticed that one of our Kiva Friends has passed the 4000 loan milestone today with another one of us being very close on his coattails. Well done, you guys. There are a whole lot of people out there in whose lives (and in whose families' lives) you've undoubtedly made a tremendous difference.

HI....I'm new to Kiva and am lost. We created a corporate team, and want to make loans as a business, not as individuals. Do you know where in the help section I might look for info on this? Thanks, Art, eWalk

Hi Art,
Welcome.
In order to loan as a business, all you need to do is create a lender profile for the business.
I hope that is helpful!

"Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons, and our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity - men and women - to reach their full potential. I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal, and I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice. That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls, and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams." - President Barack Obama, June 4, 2009

Art, This is what I did since my business is what funds my loans. See my lender profile as an example. http://www.kiva.org/lender/saabnetHope this helps, -Scott
