First time on a forum.
Two questions.
I am a team captain. It is a family team. Can we have members of families be members of the team with the same email address? I.E. can Martin who is now on the team, add his wife and three children as individual members of the team?
Can I make credit available for the team members to use to generate loans in their names? As a Christmas present that is what we are trying to do - have the children and grandchildren select loan recipients.

Hi Edward,

and welcome to KivaFriends.

1. I do not know but I guess that could be a problem as Kiva uses the e-mail-address as main form of identification and for log in purposes. But it usually should not be a problem to get free e-mail-accounts for the other family members - if that is wished with redirection of all e-mail-traffic.

2. Yes, by buying Gift Certificates for them. There is a prominent link to purchasing one (or more) on the left hand side of the Kiva homepage - and you will also find them by clicking on "Kiva Gifts" in the link list right at the top of all Kiva pages.

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

Cheesy Hi all. New to Kiva. I got a certificate as a Mother' Day gift and just redeemed it!. Just wondering how I add funds to my account to make another loan? Do I have to buy a gift certificate for myself??  I looked and didn't see a way to add funds to my own account. Thanks for any replies...

Hello beebopinaround and  Welcome to Kiva Friends!

In your portfolio you should see at the top right a box with 'Available Kiva Credit"  just below this box are some links " Add Credit  | Donate to Kiva  | Gift It  | Withdraw"

Click that first "Add Credit" link which will take you to Paypal where you can add money from your Paypal account or credit card.

I hope that helps!

Kiva used to offer a way for lenders to communicate with entrepreneurs, but I think they've ended that process entirely (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).  I'd imagine that providing that functionality on a regular basis would, in fact, cause a lot of room for complications and legal issues.

Why don't you contact them via http://www.kiva.org/help/contact-us, explain your interest, and see what they say?

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Denny and Welcome to Kiva Friends! Welcome

Perhaps you could a leave a comment on the loan or contact the MFI and ask them to pass on a message for you. Borrowers are protected for privacy sake and so direct contact is not usually possible, although there have been a few Kiva Friends who have been able to meet individuals they have loaned to either by visiting their business (such as a US entrepreneur) or an arranged visit through the relevant MFI. Hope that assists.

Best wishes,
Natasha
