If it were, Julia's idea of gifting celebs might generate a lot.

I pass people on my way to work that sell 'Maps to the Stars Houses' (mostly on Sunset Blvd). Reminds me of that!

I think the site contains a database of the current publicy addresses of the celebs.   Most celebs send you a printed autograph picture if you write them and I think people then used these pictures to sell and make money.  But some have done other things. hm.

The big question is, if you send something to the publicity address, will it get read and passed on?

I am going to start my campaign this weekend - to Rosie, Oprah, and two local fire stations.  I'm rededicating some of my Kiva budget for these gift certificates, I think they will have more effect in the long run than if I just bid on loans.

If I end up with a collection of autographed pictures I might have an auction...  hm,, auctions for Kiva

I get up in the morning determined to both change the world and to have one hell of a good time. Sometimes, this makes planning the day difficult.

Here's part of a note I recently received from Myrlia Purcell, co-founder of Look to the Stars. (KF Discussion)

Quote
Hi Richard,

[About ContactAnyCelebrity.com]: We sent letters off to 130 celebrities a few years ago, and only 4 letters came back as addressed to the wrong place. We received a lot of letters from celebrities' reps saying they were unable to respond in person, and the major Hollywood agencies must have thrown our letters out, because we didn't receive any responses from celebrities listed with them. We did get a really fantastic response from Jackie Chan, though.

They seem to do a really good job of keeping track of what people are looking for; I searched for Jackie Chan one day and he wasn't in the database, but a few days later he was.

Another option you might want to try is MySpace. A lot of bands and musicians have a presence there, and we have been in contact with some minor celebrities through MySpace email.

Best wishes,
Myrlia
