Since yesterday afternoon I have been experiencing some problems trying to fund new loans. Yesterday, I attempted to pay for the same loan three different times. Each time, I would see the Kiva intermediary page after Paypal saying thanks for your payment - payment completed but then the list of Daily Transactions wouldn't show the new loan or Kiva payment.
I was eventually able to add funds using Paypal through My Portfolio which I then used to fund the loan. I figured this was just a complete fluke. However, this morning when trying to pay for $100 in loans the same thing happened. My payment showed as completed and I received a Paypal receipt but the new loans didn't show in my Daily Transactions. This morning I was also able to add Kiva Credit again through My Portfolio screen and then use that for the loans. The only problem is that I now have a missing $175 floating around. I'm sure this will be fixed soon but for me, it's unusual for this not to auto-correct if I wait until the next day.
I'm concerned that other lenders who aren't using Kiva credit may also be experiencing this same problem which can create frustration when there's a loan you really like, lack of confidence in the process for new lenders, and loans funding much more slowly if people can't properly check out.
Has anyone else been experiencing a similar problem or is it just me? Please note that this has happened on multiple computers over ~16 hours. I have also emailed Kiva regarding these missing transactions but I'm sure they're swamped and don't expect a response immediately.

Betty, It has happened to me that a loan did'nt show up right away but maybe the day after it was in my portfoglio. However I was listed as borrower l so I did'nt worry. There are several loans in my portfoglio without name - this is since the pics got bigger. Ciao, Antonia

Becky, I have had these problems also, and when I have them, they tend to recur, so I will wait a day then try again.
In every case, I have contacted Kiva with the Paypal confirmation notice and they have made sure I had Kiva Credit to cover it (sometimes takes up to 2 days for them to get to it, but it's usually within a day), but I am almost never joined to the loans I was trying to pay for.
I recommend writing to Kiva, and I'm sure you'll get Credit at least (probably not get on the loans you were trying to pay for, though).

Yes, Becky, that happened to me once, yesterday.
I have e-mailed Kiva with the Transaction ID and have received an auto reply, but haven't yet received Kiva Credit.

Yes, me too today. I tried for 3 Senegal loans twice over but no success. I have written, and doubtless the $150 will be reimbursed, and there will be more similar loans. This has happened before, and it would be useful if the Kiva engineers could fix the problem for good.

Hey, that's what happened to me too yesterday! I called paypal support and they said it looked good from their end. They were going to escalate the issue to Kiva, and I emailed Kiva myself too.
Sounds like they are having a major problem... time to suspend loaning until they get this figured out! Hope I get my money back...

Hello Happened to me too yesterday when I tried to get in a loan to Uganda. I've emailed Kiva but yet to get a reply. It happened to me a few months ago and it took them a couple of days to sort out. Cheryl

Hi all,
I too had a similar problem this morning. I loaned the last $25.00 to an entrepreneur named Alejandro Cespedes in Paraguay (he makes dental prosthesises), and it appeared my loan transaction went through; I received the PayPal receipt.
However, as of this date and time, the loan has not appeared in my portfolio and also it's not listed in Kiva's fundraising or raised sections either. It appears the loan has TEMPORARILY disappeared from the earth.
I'll follow-up this afternoon to see if it reappeared. I noticed there were a few Kiva Friends on this loan also.

Patricia, I forgot to say previously, mine too had disapeared when it happened yesterday! And did reappeared when I checked back a little bit later, without me has a lender ! Sherri, not to worry, first time it happened to me they credited my account the same day. I always do a print screen and/or keep copy of pay pal e-mail that I send along with e-mail to kiva. Print screen in case computer crashes and the more info the better! Anne-Marie
