Congratulations!  Another challenge met.

make “Kiva Friends” show up under the avatar on your loan…that is what counts.

Here are the countries and partners that qualify—least developed (or most needy) first.  Only four and five star partners are listed.

1.   Update: Challenges met!!!!!       Sierra Leone
            http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=52115
            http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=51964
2.   Mali  SOL Yiriwaso
3.   Mozambique UPDATE: The selected partner isn't active now, so the wheelchair drive meets this one!!!   (In process)
4.   Benin  Alide’
5.   Rwanda  VFC
6.   Senegal  Caurie Microfinance  OR U-IMCEC
7.   UPDATE : Challenge met      Nigeria  LAPO
               http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=51566&_tpos=1&_tpg=1
8.   Tanzania  BRAC or SELFINA or Tujijenge

Check out the Nigerian challenge!  The first six positions of loaners are all KF!  Then I gather Scott didn't want to feel left out, so he joined as well.  Are we a bunch of overachievers or what?

Hint: Mali, Benin and Rwanda don't have many loans, so if you see a good one...jump!  Senegal and Tanzania seem to be fairly consistently available, so I guess when the mood (and pocketbook) strikes.  Meanwhile, Diane is handling the wheelchair financial logistics for Mozambique's challenge.

Isn't it great that KF can swoop into a loan and cause it to become on the most popular list!

Loan suggestion for the Tanzania part of the challenge:

Jesca Buluba is a wholesaler of the sacks used to carry maize, rice, and beans.  We see these filled sacks in so many shopkeepers' loan photos, but someone has to sell those sacks, right?  Jesca is our go-to woman in Dar es Salaam.  10 month loan with SELFINA, and she has already repaid 3 loans successfully.

There is still $650 left to fund on her loan, can we get 5 more KivaFriends to participate?

EDIT:  I see Scott/saabnet is there now!  4 more?

ANOTHER EDIT:  I see Geoff/bikeme has joined also!  3 more to go!

ANOTHER EDIT:  Matthew/Good Dogg has joined, only 2 more KFs needed!

AND YET ANOTHER EDIT:  Peter S has joined!  One more KF and we meet another challenge!

BUMP!
(Hmm, is there any truth to the self-referential attempt at spelling out something with those letters, which says they stand for "Bump Up My Post"?)

Cheesy

Just giving Jesca Buluba's loan a little boost here: 2 more KivaFriends showing on the loan and it becomes the next challenge-meeting loan!  Plus hey, someone's gotta sell those sacks for all the grains and legumes everyone else is going to sell, right?

Here is the latest...

To give everyone a bit of a break, let's wait on Senegal.  The other three seem sporadic, so it should give time to appreciate all the Kiva Friends have done.  Besides, the wheelchair is the fifth one!!!!  When that is signed, sealed and delivered, I will try to join in as one of the six for one of the final loans here.  Any of the four are new countries to me!  So wait for me!!!!

Colette,
It is entirely your call but since Good Dogg amended his ways (and avatar description), I really think Blessing Peter should count for something.
Since Mali, Benin & especially Rwanda are dubious could you please find it in your heart to give Nigeria & Blessing another opportunity, an Honorable Mention. I think she deserves it.

Thank you

Geoff,

Good Dog makes LOTS of loans, so it is brilliant that he added "Kiva Friends".  I put Blessing Peter on the list,  I will count it as the fifth one with the provision that we put on hold challenges until after the wheelchair gets delivered.  (Wheelchair would be the first of the next loan challenges, no loss there)  I gave unlimited time, and I pretty much expected it to be one a week or so.  The generousity of KF needs to take a little vacation (and I might as well), so let's take a rest.  I am eager to apply the loan from this group of challenges to Senegal or one of the harder to find challenge countries with all of you toward the end of the month.  Thus, I would be one of the six!
