This has become a very special day for me. In the morning when it looked that the loans went very slow I put a last call to my team members of The Netherlands team to ask them to please help. During the day all loans went to loans who needed the most support. So today I am proud I am a Dutch. At the same time The captain of the Team Lebanon made me his co-captain. For one day that is to much. Now I am waiting till all the loans are fully loaned so I can open the Champagne

The Las Magnificas Group loan is also raised now!  Party

This leaves us with 22 loans in the danger list. The next one is the Impacto Group with $825 needed during the next 9 hours.  Smiley

P.s.: Congratulations, Carien! This is really a great day to be proud of!  Flowers

And let's not forget Juan Bautista, which need $1475 in just over 10 hours.

And congratulations, Carien. I hope that Champagne is already chilling. You deserve it.  Kiss

Just a heads up for those looking, the soon to be expiring  loans from Aqroinvest Credit Union have not been dispersed yet, unless I missed one.   I know I would be more inclined to "save" those loans who had not been dispersed.
Great job everyone for rallying to "save" loans from going unfunded on Kiva.

I have a question:

These loans that are at risk, where the money has already been disbursed .... what really happens if they are not raised?  Anybody know? (Is it just the MFI coffers that suffer?)

Jane Sladen.

Jane,

MFI's have other sources of funding available to them (Kiva limits their Kiva funding to something like 20-30% of their overall funding) and if a loan does not raise through Kiva but is already disbursed, I believe the MFI just uses other funds.

Actually, Impacto was disbursed May 20th, and Juan Bautista was disbursed on June 2nd. Going down the list, the others have similarly been disbursed. The date doesn't line up nicely with the colon in my browser window, but it's there.

Impacto seems to be caught in a basket.  Sad

Yes Alan, i see that Bolivia loans seem to have already dispersed but those from Azerbaijan, Aqroinvest Credit Union MFI have not.  For example, Nadir Talishov, the first one set to expire from this MFI is not due to disperse until July 20.

Wow, some seconds ago the Impacto Group had $600 left to fund and now it is raised.  Shocked and  Yahoo!

Down now to 20 loans with the Juan Bautista Group being the next with 7 hours left and $600 needed:
