As requested by Ramona - "I think it is worth keeping it. So many people working together for the same good aim. :-)"

This is a fantastic effort everyone, I'm very proud to be a member of such a team!

I've spent a bit more than I usually do on Kiva this month (I'm a student) but it's great to see that so many people were able to help out to ensure that all the loans were funded, thanks to everyone for chipping in! It's fantastic when you wake up and check the loans to find out that they have been funded. Also a big thanks to all the people that have put in a lot of extra work such as making the logo, being team captain, updating members with the amounts remaining, etc.

Will you be reloaning your credits on the 15th or waiting til this time next month just incase there are a lot of 'Large, 'Languishing Group Loans' which need to be funded?

Subject to additional funding between now and then, there will be three loans in the red zone by Wednesday. Azer Ismayilov is already down to 3 days and $1750 to go. No panic, to be sure, but still something to be tracked. And by then there will still be a handful of loans that are closing in on the danger zone. Again, nothing like the last week, which spurred such effort from so many people, but the underlying issue of the default Popularity sort has still not been addressed, which means that if everyone returns to the old habits we run the risk of a similar crisis in the future.

So, I will probably start spreading the credit, but I will begin my search for loans from the oldest.

What does it take to make the issues that arose in pursuit of the funding of expiring loans a Kiva call topic ?

Tom, you might also suggest it as a topic for the next KF Liaison call, later in July.  I could bring it up directly with Gerard for consideration and comment.

And the effort continues!

Mavlyuda Hatamova just went to 4 days left and is already nearly funded. Looks like $50 or $75 in a basket. LLL's not on this one, but what counts is it's being funded.  Thumbs Up

Laugh   What a tough question!    Smiley  Truthfully, I'm *hoping* this doesn't happen again next month, and realistically, I imagine all my credits will be gone by around the 1st no matter my intention, but that doesn't mean I won't hop onto some expiring loans if they get into that position...  I'd rather use added credits on loans I just can't resist though! It was a strange week but it was fun to do it with all of you. Never been so connected with you and with many others.  I was really surprised that so many jumped into loans after asking them. So that was also a lesson for me never feel a shame others to help. So Wednesday I go back to my Lebanese loans that was the reason I ever started with Kiva and I like to keep it up to 70 30. Many thanks to you all. Last but not least first time in a chatroom

you are great people

THANKS/SUCRAN

I thought I'd said it, but I don't think I said it here: so I second Carien's sentiments. What a great group of dedicated and generous people! An excellent week's work by all. It is a privilege to be part of such a team.  Kiss Kiss  Drinks

A few days ago, I sent this message to Gerard:

"Kiva, you've got to dump the baskets after about 5 minutes, not an hour!
There are some folks keeping soon-to-expire loans in baskets just so they'll
expire."

Today he replied:

"Thanks so much for your email. We have a way to review and dump baskets if we think that the activity is suspicious. Something that we'll employ only if something looks really strange. If you notice any instances of this, however, please let us know what loan ID you're looking at so we can investigate."

First I heard they have a system for reviewing and dumping baskets, but it sounds like they haven't used it yet. But it does look like they want us to let them know of suspicious basket hoarding!

I am glad it's of concern to them.
