Hey Gang,

I notice a request for loan today that I could swear I saw before.

Khatun Imanova, Imishli, Azerbaijan, Business ID: 44451

I did some checking and, sure enough, found that I had made a loan to her back on Feb. 1.  Same picture, same name & town, only different business ID: 31924.

The Feb. 1st loan is still being repaid (17% currently paid off).  Can entrepreneurs have more than one Kiva loan at a time?

Hi MichaelJ and welcome to KIVAfriends!
 Welcome

I see what you mean.  There may have been some kind of mix up when the MFI put up the loan again(?).  I would send an email to contactus@kiva.org explaining the mistake with both loan request numbers included.  They'll send you a first email that is autogenerated and then later you'll get a real response from someone there.

I just loaned to this lady. The two loan descriptions, while similar, are somewhat different ... as are the amounts. The loans don't appear to be duplicates, but rather two distinct loans. Please let us know what you learn from Kiva, Michael. Thanks!

MichaelJ,

I've just been informed by Kiva that my loan, with respect to the borrower you mentioned above, has been refunded. It WAS a mistaken double posting of the loan. Thanks very much for your attentiveness and for bringing this to the other lenders' attention and to that of Kiva.org.

Cheers ...

Although I wasn't one of the lenders on this loan, the scary part for me in this was that one of the descriptions said she sold dairy products and wanted to buy dairy cows, and the other said she sold meat and wanted to buy calves!   Shocked  It makes me think twice about dairy loans!
