For three days now the kiva website has refused me enterance into my account. any body else haveing the problem..  I put in my email address and my password, it goes off and just asks me for the information all over again

 Welcome
The Kiva websire is having some kind of "technical" problem.  I can attest to this as I have had problems sending a gift certificate and also funding some loans.  I am hoping this is a short term problem as I finally got into the website after many tries.  (I am hoping this is because there are many people trying to fund a loan - wouldn't' that be great?)  Welcome to Kiva Friends and don't give up hope.  I finally got into the website tonight after numerous tries. Hope to see you again on KIva Friends!!

Yes, there are a number of people that have mentioned having problems and I did this morning too.

Some have been told to clear their computer cache, but that didn't work for me.  KF Robert suggested rebooting the computer, which may have been the ticket for me, though I didn't do it consciously.  I turned off the computer and came back much later and things worked the way they always have in the past.  This morning was the first time I ever had any sorts of problems like this.  Hope you'll be able to make the loan/s you want to sooner rather than later!  Hang in there!   Smiley


In case any Kiva staff happen to peek in here, below is how things happened for me.  I already emailed contactus@kiva.org to ask them for help earlier.

These are the steps I had gone through:

1. Basket: http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=basket&action=addSharesToBasket
2. Then I click the "Continue" button
3. Which brings up this page to log in or register: https://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=basket&action=registerLogin
4. I click the "Login" button after filling in my email and password
5. Then it boots me to: https://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=login (after I just logged in!)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one having trouble getting into my account - I too fill in my email and password and nothing happens - I though it was just me!! I am ready to loan again and have sent KIVA an email about my problem - hopefully they will be able to get me back in. Thanks for putting your problem out there.

Hi all,

I posted the following in another section a few days ago:
 
1.  In terms of not being able to log into my account:

This login problem only occurs on my work PC; no problem with my home MAC.
Kiva said clearing the browser cache should resolve this problem.  For me, this usually works after multiple tries and then rebooting.  (UPDATE:  This no longer works.)  Huh?

2.  In terms of not being directed to PayPal to pay with a credit card:

The problem is reversed.  I can access PayPal to pay with a credit card with my work PC, but not with my home MAC.  However, with my MAC, I can access the add credit screen.     

UPDATE:  Currently, I can't log in at all now on my work PC.  Kiva instructed me to contact them again if the problem persists and I shall do such now.  If I find out any information that will help us all with these computer problems I will post it here.

I can't get into my account either!  I've been trying for three hours and I even shut down and restarted my computer.  I hope this is fixed soon!

I've been having a problem accessing my portfolio today so I do the following:
               
               Click on "My Basket" (which is always empty now Sad ) and then click on "My Portfolio"

Hope this works for all of you!

I am still (ongoing) having a problem logging into my Kiva account.  The only thing that works is rebooting the computer.  I will send them a message also.  Jane

Hi everyone,

I did hear back from Kiva staffer Alan. Thank you Alan!  I had explained to him that the cache clearing hadn't worked for me.  I also provided him with the link for this thread as well as another one where people were discussing log in problems.

He said: "I've forwarded this along to our engineering team to keep record of the issue."

So they are aware of things, there have probably been other people emailing too I imagine.

So far, I've been lucky and (touch wood) haven't had the problem reoccur yet.  Now hopefully I haven't spoken too soon, as it worked fine this morning when I tested it!  Wink

I'm sorry that you guys are having problems.  Sad
