Ok Sherri - anything for Kiva...
Even though I'm not sure how this really works Smiley
I added the logo and link to my blog http://beatonho.blogspot.com/ and perhaps some of my young friends (like my son with his huge Amazon wish list) will use the link to shop...

Sherri,   Howdy

I think what you're doing is wonderful. Thank you once again for all that you do with your "Bright Sky Foundation."

On a side note: Too bad about the "Red Wings."  Maybe they'll do better in the next game. (I hope)

Good morning,
I just noticed this post and it sounds great. When I follow the link it brings me to the home page and says Hello Evelyn!. Is that it? Does it mean that for anything I buy Amazon will send you money for Kiva?
Thank you,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,

That's a beautiful name by the way! Well, the fact that it says 'Hi Evelyn' means that you must already be logged into the site. Typically when you follow the special affiliate link, you won't see anything different on the website. However, anything you buy during that visit, will earn a small percent commission that I will use toward Kiva loans. If you re-visit Amazon later, you'll have to use that special link again (that's why it's best to make that your bookmark!).

Let me know if you have more questions! Tell your other Canadian friends about the link too! Smiley

Important:

The amazon.ca affiliate link for Kiva has not earned much and I have too many things to juggle. So... I will be discontinuing the affiliate link and the money earned to date will be donated to Kiva. It is $35.89 total.

If you have this link in your bookmarks on on your website, please remove it - as it will no longer earn commissions. Please spread the word to anyone you have shared this link with. Thank you!

I do have a more general one that earns commissions for all of my BrightSky.org charitable activities (including Kiva) if you still want your amazon.ca purchases to help out various charities. It is here:

http://www.amazon.ca/?&tag=brightsky-20

I apologize if this inconveniences anyone. Thank you to the few people who had used it in the past. Smiley Please note this is not any kind of a reaction or slight to Kiva. It is only reflective of the fact that I am much too busy to be responsible for this link.

Update:

I have donated the $35.89 to Kiva just now. Transaction record:
($35.89)     Oct 07, 2009     Donation     Donation of $35.89.

I also got your note on my blog, Sherri, but don't know how to reply to you there Smiley

I just changed the link and image on my blog to Bright Sky - ok?

I'm not sure if any of my readers actually ever click, but you never know and it's hard for Canadians to find a way to shop Amazon and have it do any good.

thanks, jan
