Sorry, great idea (and especially great timing  Smiley ) but I will be on a business trip next week from Monday to Wednesday and won't have internet access during this time.

Have all fun and see you next time!

Hi, Everyone!  Smiley
I don't know whether any of you computer whizzes can help me on this one, but I hope so.
I tried, a number of times, to enter the "scheduled chat" yesterday, but was unsuccessful.  I kept getting this message:  "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly.  If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.  Do you want to abort the script?" (followed by "yes" and "no" boxes -  I always said "yes").
I asked my computer-savy son-in-law what was going on, and he wrote: "Try clicking on No. The chat in KivaFriends is most likely Flash-based (flash is a programming language, not just movies). Are you using Safari? If so, try using Firefox, instead. It is possible the new operating system doesn't quite work properly with the Kiva site & Safari".
I was using Firefox - not Safari - but did try Safari one time (still no luck). The new operating system he was talking about is "Snow Leopard," which he had just installed on my Mac.
     Can anybody help? SOS SOS

Hi, Glenda! Smiley

I'm not a computer wiz, and moreover, this sounds bizarre (to me), but do you have something called "Ad Blocker" anywhere within Snow Leopard, or within a separate "security suite" installed on your computer?  It seems I got that message somewhere, somehow, at some point (not with respect to "chat"), and I believe after I did whatever I could do, I ended up turning off "Ad Blocker" (maybe not the best solution) and everything was fine.  I could be wrong, though.

Good luck!

It isn't much notice, but hopefully that means people remember!  Tomorrow, Monday, November 23 at 1pm Pacific Time (California Time or even Kiva Time, as that is where Kiva headquarters is), there will be a chat.  Thought I would do it early before the U.S. people go comatose with eating too much during Thanksgiving.

CHAT: Monday, November 23
         1pm Pacific Time

Be there or be gossiped about.  (Just kidding!  We are really nice, so please come in and meet everyone if you haven't been before)

I'll try to be there Colette!

Hopefully there will be a good turnout.

For those not located in CA or Pacific Time, I use this tool to work out what time it will be for me: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html
Just select Los Angeles as City 1 and then your location as City 2. This tool is fantastic for things like this and I use it all the time Smiley

Or even easier, you could just add 13 hours and 30 minutes from now (when I made this post) Smiley

Thursday at 1pm Pacific time there will be a scheduled chat.  Agenda?  We make it up as we go along.  It is really informal, and all are welcome.

Tuesday, March 23 at 1pm Pacific Time there will be a scheduled chat.  Why?  'Cause we haven't had one in awhile.

It is usually good times--discussing Kiva, gossiping sharing news about people our lives, and finding solutions to world problems (or sometimes just what to make for dinner).  Actually, it is really free form and a great way to get to know other KF members.  Who knows what can become of friendships on KF?!?
