Beatriz Mauro wrote this very powerful journal yesterday.  http://fellowsblog.kiva.org/2008/06/08/field-experience/

"Last Thursday I’ve visited 16 clients (Kiva and non-Kiva clients) and when I arrived home at night I was completed exhausted; emotionally devastated. I had seen so much poverty, so many problems, so many kids in horrible situations, diseases, hunger, lack of a proper home to live. A strong storm hit the region the previous night, and many people that had plastic roofing had just lost their home with everything inside. Many clients lost their stand and their place to sell their products, but they weren’t as scared as I was. They were sad, but behaving as “we lost it all one more time”, which for me was even more hard to take it."

I hope all Kiva Friends will consider sending their support through comments on her blog.

Hey waywardcats,

That was very kind of you to post Beatriz's blog entry and like Jan in another thread, to be concerned about her.  Just wanted to make sure you realized that that Beatriz is now Our Beatriz, recently a Very Important Fellow (VIF?) to a lot of us here at the Forum.  If you haven't already gone there, do check out the new thread, KF Special Projects for Special Entrepreneurs @ http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,2147.0.html
where you will see she figures mightily.....

Sort of related:  Hey, you guys, I've been noticing that separate threads about different Kiva Fellows and their blogs have been proliferating rapidly around here.  Anybody want to create a new thread where we can post about different Kiva Fellows and their blogs and try to keep it all together......?
