I see some Kiva friends promote some loans from time to time and I have now done so as well - my ladies from Guatemala.

Here’s and idea to help you - use a promotional gimmick (like I did with my Tomato Mush). I knew that the Tomato Mush would be impossible to resist and was indeed what convinced people to participate  Laugh

When I do find another one loan which I feel the need to promote, I’ll do the same.  My next promotion is revealing the secret of how to get a good night’s sleep (as I type this at 2 AM).  If you can’t wait until I promote again - just send me a $25 Kiva Gift Certificate which will be used to fund another loan and I will e-mail you the secret  Shocked

Though I choose to take life not too seriously (most of the time) I make sure I do not lose sight of the fact that many people are not as fortunate as I am.  I cannot ignore them for to do so, would be morally wrong.

Here’s an idea that I think might work:

I have set aside $200 (8 Kiva Loans).  For the first 8 Kiva friends who make a charitable donation of $15 or more to the SPCA - I will make a $25 loan to Kiva.  Not only that - but you get to instruct me on what type loan I should make in return for your SPCA donation(example - Africa only, no butcher shops, must be Peru, etc).

Note - I will be getting credit for the loan as it will be under my profile - you get credit from the SPCA and the Tax Dept  Smiley

In order to take advantage of this, you would first make your donation and then e-mail me a copy of the SPCA receipt. Give me instructions and presto, shortly after, it will be done. Those who particapte will be acknowledged on Kivafriends.org unless they indicate that prefer not to be.

This offer is to the first 8 Kiva lenders who participate and this offer expires on July 31, 2008.

Thanks

Thanks Scott - you are # 1 (as in the first to do the SPCA/Kiva)connection). I will soon start another thread entitled "SPCA and Kiva" which will chart the progress of this idea and acknowledge those who particippate  Thumbs Up

Should anyone want to copy this idea for another organization (such as cancer research or whatever), please feel free to do so - I would feel honoured that you copied the idea.  Just one condiition - not set in stone  Laugh Give me a few days to get this one off the ground.

Thanks  Smiley

Will do... I like the idea - and have some organizations in mind, too.
So... expect further notice in "a few days" - if this one will get off the ground.   Grin
Meanwhile, good luck to Moonfish and the SPCA.

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

Haven't checked out the recipe yet, but I am wondering how
flexible it is. Would I get good results if I added cow
lips to the dish?
