Looks like this may be your last chance to participate, the loan to
Prosperidad Y Exito Group
has only a small portion remaining to be funded!   Runner   Shocked

Edit: The loan is now raised.  Yay! CherylS for getting in under the wire!

"Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons, and our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity - men and women - to reach their full potential. I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal, and I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice. That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls, and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams." - President Barack Obama, June 4, 2009

Wow, that was fast and even though we didn't get close to breaking the record, I am still impressed that we got, by my quick initial count, 42 KivaFriends.org lender avatars. I know there will be a few stragglers who can still put KivaFriends.org under their avatar, so I won't do the final count until tomorrow evening.

Good job folks!

That's 45 people. Way to go folks - that loan was not available for very long so it was great to see so many KFers hop on it in short order! Here's the history so far:

Lily's Loan: 32 (http://www.kiva.org/lend/49888)
July 2008: 62 (http://www.kiva.org/lend/54280)
July 2009: 85 (http://www.kiva.org/lend/120703)
July 2010: 45 (http://www.kiva.org/lend/206884)

I'll be awarding one of the gift certificate prizes later today and the other tomorrow.

Thanks,

Congratulations Colette... and wow, that loan had 143 lenders.

I'll try next year to be around Scott, it's a wonderful way to have fun and help someone at the same time.

Thanks, Scott.  Generally one is surprised because winning is an unexpected outcome.  Heck, I didn't even know that there was a contest!
