Popular Topics at Kiva Friends is locked so that it can act somewhat like a contents index for for topics that tend to show up under just about any discussion board. Here is a place to discuss ideas about what else could be included there.

Ive been saying it on and off for awhile, along with others, but we need a single place to discuss paypal issues, and another place or even sub-section devoted to MFIs. Information, ideas, discussions on all of these are all over. If not, its ok by me, but it would help.

If such a section were created, how about making it slightly less specialized, like perhaps, 'Payment Issues". That could include Paypal, future payment services, credit cards, gift certficates, Kiva Credit, and withdrawals... -Scott

I think that and anything else is possible, Scott, good thinking...Im just feeling it might veer off in different directions more easily if all payment methods were included for discussion--or the important information or facts could get lost in a large thread. If we could stick to "payment issues" then I would wholeheartedly agree with your suggestion--it makes more sense then to limit a thread just to paypal.
Isnt there already a payment issues type of thread? Maybe that can be designated as the thread to include paypal related issues as well--since it seems those are the types of postings that cant be tied down to one place.

I agree it would be nice to have neatly organized topics under neatly organized boards... I'm not sure how long it would take to get all those cats in a row! In the meantime, I think what the "Popular Topics" thread can do is help track down where some topical discussions that tend to crop up all over the place are located in relatively short lists. Hey, it's progress.

Richard, Thank you for taking the time to organize everything. I think it'll help both "new" and "old" users of the site. As you know, it can be time consuming and confusing wading through all of the threads. Rebecca

Think there is any way for Joe to link this list to the button "start a new thread" with a notice to check over the list to see if there is already a similar thread going?

Good job Richard with consolidating all the links to the endless number of significant threads and topics...great idea.

Hey, I'll take on paypal - however - it is the weekend! But, since AhimsaSteve is the most familiar with the Paypal issues, maybe he could provide us with an outline to incorporate into your outline!

I already wrangled up everything I could find with "PayPalish" words in the topic title at Kiva Financials. Steve, I think Henry's trying wriggle out of sifting another topic out of the gestalt!

Oh-Henry. I think he was just hoping to designate me for the collection of paypal threads, knowing how so endeared I am to them.

I've seen forums that display similar titled topics at the bottom of threads (based on keywords) and others that can display a list before or during posting. I'm not sure if this one supports that type of functionality, but I'll definitely look into it.
