Just wanted to say "Thanks, and I LOVE the new mapping feature!"

Gladly, my address shows up and I won't have to be the one to exercise patience, which I have so little of.

Glad you all like the map feature.

smooveJ - Thanks to all and everyone who has provided the map feature!  It should also be a great marketing tool to let lenders see how we can all work together to impact one little part of our world.
 Thank You  Jane

Hey smooveJ - WHAT A GREAT PICTURE ON YOUR LENDER PAGE!!!!

How much time then Scott - I trued to as Jane but no success so far  .  .
- Dagfinn A.

Dagfinn,

Okay, go ahead and add http://KivaFriends.org back to your City field so we can count you. SmooveJ has explained that the error you're getting is related to a limit on the number of daily requests they can make to Google's mapping service. That should be fixed in a short while.

And Everyone Else:

In other exciting news, the Kanahuara Group is down to just $725 left to fund with 5 days to go. Any KivaFriends who don't display the KF web link are very much invited to join too as we're setting that record as well!

Thanks everyone for making this so fun and exciting!

I have found a small technical problem now that Kiva has started offering the Map View.

Now, it's not guaranteed that I can hover my cursor over a lender's icon or name who's on the loan (at least while it's funding) and get a link to their lender page.  Instead, most of the time my cursor stays shaped like a hand that's used to drag things around.  Occasionally I'll get the arrow (clickable link) cursor, but mostly I can't click on lender icons anymore.  I consider this a technical problem that needs to be fixed.

(I also find it a bit annoying that there's all that white space where potential lender icons will go, but that's more a matter of design preference.  The other issue is a technical problem.)

thanks!

Diane, do you mean on map view you cannot see the avators, or that once you see it you cannot click it?

If the former, have you tried zooming in using the map controls so that you can distinguish between individual lenders?

If the latter, I have no problem if I click the lender NAME rather than the avatar once it pops up.

Kivafriends.org scrambled and respelled is "Risk And Forgive."  Of course, it also can be respelled "Asked For Virgin" and "Darer of Vikings" and even "Vinegar For Kids" but those are a lot less interesting.

I am talking about on the List View, not the Map View (but the problem appeared when the Map View option was installed, so it came with the code drop.)  In the List View now, I can see the avatars, I can see their names, the names are underlined like good links should be, but only some random percentage of the avatars or names are clickable.  Some few are, most are not.

Try moving your mouse around and see if you can click on all of them all the time.  My guess is no.  (Can someone else confirm this is a problem for them also?)

Yes, it appears the "empty heads" do not link anywhere - however their names do link to their pages.  And a couple of heads who have no names -have no links.

The problem seems to be affecting the majority of lenders in the 1st three rows.  Huh?

I believe those are anonymous lenders - have clicked anonymous in their set up.

And when I went to the record breaking loan, I clicked on about 40 random lender avatar links and all of them worked as they were supposed to.. I cannot replicate this problem.
