Jpg images of last years calendar can be found earlier in the thread attached to this post here:
http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,2405.msg38012.html#msg38012

I am suggesting only minor tweaks are made (due to some time constraints), but it is all up for discussion...

Another voting scheme is to consider IF we will be balancing men and women again.  If so, run a first pass with men and women categories.  Give everyone maybe 5-10 votes (depending on how many in each group but about 5-10% of the total pictures in the category).  Eliminate all the very low vote recipients in each category.  Then regroup by region.  Sprinkle a little pixie dust on it, and then we get the final 12 or 13.

Oh, can we have a picture of the wheelchair project in there as a potential.  She does have a loan, so we can cover two in one if it makes the cut.

Last year we allowed one per country, and there are more countries this year.  It should be easier to get 12-13 great photos in unique countries this year, so we aim for representing each country no more than once.

I have not seen last year's calendar, so please excuse my ignernt question:

How many photos will you use?
Only one per month (12 or 16, depending on calendar format)
or
One large monthly and one or two small ones in the blank spaces on the calendar page?
or
None of the above?

Hello Everyone (and Ann),

I was only able to obtain a copy of the 2008 calendar due to the kindness of KF Ramon who sent me one of his extra copies for the price of a self addressed & stamped ($1.48) envelope.

For anyone interested in viewing this calendar, I have posted a copy at the following link: http://picasaweb.google.com/bikeme1952/Kiva2008Calendar

Hopefully this will enable newer Kfer's, like myself, to visualize & get a better idea of exactly what is being discussed here.

Enjoy,

Geoff

P.S. Thanks again Ramon

When viewing the calendar, once you click on the selected picture/slide, if you utilize the magnifying glass feature on the upper right (next to share photo) you can view the pics in greater detail & it makes in much easier to read the info/copy.

For anyone interested in viewing this calendar, I have posted a copy [snip]

Perhaps you could upload these instead of scans?

Thanks for your hard work and dedication Christopher...its been almost a year since we began anticipating the second calendar from KF and here it goes!

Maybe Joe can link up to the calendar from the top of the site pages...didn't he arrange something similar last year for those not as familiar with KF and the calendar project?

Christopher!
Many thanks for all your hard work!!  WOW!  You did a great job pulling this all together.  Voting for these wonderful pictures is like picking out all new art work for the walls!!  I can hardly wait for this year's calendar.

Wow, tough decisions.  Can't believe how long it took to go through them to decide, so can't fathom how long it took you to go through everything and prepare it for us!  Astounding and excellent Christopher.  Thank you so much . . . . and you've only just begun, already posting for 2010 calendars!

One of my favorite impish smiles made it into the 2009 Calendar collection.  Oumy just looks like she'd be the first to give you a hug when you approached to buy her material:  http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=51690

Thanks so much for all your time and energy with this project Christopher!   Thumbs Up

Hi Christopher.  I may have overlooked it somewhere, but when do we plan on having the first round of voting expire?  Just curious for those who might be a little busy at the moment or feel the need to procrastinate some.  Thanks.
