Thanks lspenle! The good news is that for now you do not need to be a cardholder or to sign up for a card, you can nominate Kiva anyway with a guest account to help them get in the top 25. Later, when the real voting takes place you need to be a card holder and live in the U.S.: Eligibility: Any person with a valid email address can join Members Project's online community and show support for Projects. To submit a Project or vote for your favorite Project, however, you must be a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, at least 15 years of age, and the holder in good standing of an American Express® Card issued by American Express in the United States, whether you are a basic or Additional Cardmember ("Cardmember"). Additionally, if you are submitting a Project you cannot be an employee, or an immediate family member (i.e., spouse, parent, sibling, dependent, or spouse of parent, sibling or dependent, regardless of where he/she lives) of an employee, of American Express, or any of its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, advertising or promotion agencies, independent contractors, or any promotion partners of American Express directly involved with Members Project (collectively, the "American Express Parties").Liz wrote this message in the anouncement part of the forum. I would have liked to write a reply there but that isn't possible. Kiva’s project "Loans That Change Lives", is currently a contestant for the Members Project Award! Please support us and help our organization win $1.5M through popular vote. Here's what you can do to help Kiva win: 1) Visit the following site: http://www.membersproject.com/project/view/P6KQEI2) Click on “Nominate this Project” 3) Choose the final option (“Sign in as guest”) and continue through the short process 4) If your nomination does not go through, click on “Recently Viewed” on the right navigation bar and nominate “Loans That Change Lives” Every $1 donated to Kiva’s Operational Expenses has led to $8 in loans. If Kiva wins $1.5M, this would help us facilitate $12M in loans! Since the average loan size on Kiva is $700, here is a chance to help 17,000 entrepreneurs improve their lives in just a couple of clicks! Thanks for your support!! So for now everybody can nominate Kiva to get into the top 25, but later the voting is only for US cardholders.

"Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons, and our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity - men and women - to reach their full potential. I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal, and I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice. That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls, and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams." - President Barack Obama, June 4, 2009

Hooray! Kiva made it into the top 25, just announced by American Express. As I understand it, only AMEX cardholders can vote in the next round. So if you have an AMEX card, go on over to the American Express website or directly to the MembersProject page and cast your vote. http://www.membersproject.com/project/view/P6KQEI?cid=MP08_email_voting_top25email2The list of competition doesn't seem all that daunting, so maybe we do have a chance to get some funding for Kiva.

You can change your vote up to the deadline, but only the last vote counts.

Kiva is currently in 4th place out of the top 25! Each of the top 5 places will get money, but of course the higher ranked, the more money, so vote, vote, vote.

Hi! I have a AMEX Card and I tried many times to vote for KIVA. All I kept getting was a blank page or an error message. Sorry, but I tried at least a half a dozen times. Lorna
