Welcome to the first round of voting for the 2009 Kiva Calendar.  There are 27 concurrent polls (one for each country) – remember to vote in each one.

You have up to 2 votes in this poll, nominally for: Female individual; Male individual.

Below are links to each  entrepreneurs' profile and a thumbnail (which in turn is linked to the full-sized image – be warned some are a couple of MB or more)

The winners of each country will then go through to the next round of voting*. (Results will be available after the poll has ended).

*I am currently reserving the right that if there is a tie I will have the casting vote (I will not have voted in the poll, however tempting it might be).

Where possible the casting vote will be used to ensure:
- a balance of male and female entrepreneurs (as to the Kiva ratio)
- a balance of businesses (farming, shops, repairs, food, markets etc).

I really like Felix's picture - but I don't think it will work for the calendar that washed out. Photo shop is NOT my friend - anything anyone can do with this one?

I'll be happy to change my vote if that can be addressed.

I don't have Photoshop, but a poor substitute that I got for free with my digital camera. I was able to change Felix's photo with a few clicks...
Photoshop should be able to work miracles...

I included Felix, as I thought I would be able to tweak it well enough with PhotoShop - and an initial quick test did produce encouraging results.

Thanks for the information on touching up the photos! I also liked the picture of Felix but thought it was too washed out for the calendar.  Now that I know it can be improved, I have changed my vote also.  Jane

I, too, updated my vote to Felix.  The colors are amazing, and I just love that monkey . . .

It would be a shame not to have that image in the calendar!!   Cry

Henry? pulled some magic last year with a pic during voting rounds, so I was set on Felix from the getgo.  Thanks Alphecca--we'd hate to lose that pic needlessly.
