Don't know if it fits, but here's a contribution of sorts...

Adding KivaFriends.org To Your Lender Avatar

Some people on Kiva Friends help promote the site by adding KivaFriends.org to their lender avatar such that it appears below each loan they are on. For example, this is what it looks like for a few lenders under the recent 2008 KivaFriends Record Breaking Loan.

If you'd like to add KivaFriends.org to your lender avatar, here is how you do that.

1. The link below will take you directly to your My Account settings with your My Portfolio area on the Kiva.org web site:

https://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=account&action=info

2. Change your City: setting to exactly this:

http://KivaFriends.org

3. In the State/Province: field, you can actually feel free to type your City and State (or province/area for international lenders) suh as:

San Francisco CA

4. Click on the Save New Personal Info button at the bottom of the page and you are all set to go!

Hope this helps,

-Scott

I'm trying out your new code, Richard, with a recent favorite lender of mine. Please bear with me as I've long been wanting to be able to post them so neatly as you and Peter and others do.

Thanks, Scott!  I added a slightly modified KF avatar link tip to the list.

It looks like you're a neat picture poster now!  Yes

Thanks, Richard, the modifications and addition of the extra graphics that show exactly what you would see when making these changes are perfecto!

Thanks for your time,

Changing Your Text Color in the Chat Room

A very nice and useful feature of the KivaFriends chat room is that each participant's messages can appear in a different color which makes it easier to follow who is saying what (although this can also lead to you wanting all your documents to be in rainbow colors Wink). The default color for all users is a light blue but once you pick a new color, chat will remember it each time you log in and whenever you change it to a new color.

In order to change your Chat Text Color, first find the color picker square as shown by the red arrow in the image below.

Click on the square and it will bring up a box from which you can choose a color to use.

In general, just don't use a color that someone else is already using. That way, you won't be confused with someone else.
