Please note that following the model of the 2008 calendar is not an option; entrepreneur photos will not be used for 2009.  The non-quilt options are for the variety of other ideas that have come forward in the forum: lender photos, other photos from borrower countries, etc.  If you have other suggestions, please list them here.  This poll need not be the final vote on the calendar but it will help us narrow things down.

Chris, for what it's worth my vote is here....   40 calendars - quilt of course. 

IF you had seen this vote last year, my vote would have been in the 'not buying one section' - as the only reason i'm buying any is for mother this year in the event it's the quilt.

That is a tough poll.  We will buy more than 5 no matter which theme is decided, because I trust the professionalism of those who are working on it.

I just want a calendar which explains the fundamentals of Kiva's goal of getting loans to poor entrepreneurs. 

I am concerned that the quilt can somehow point back to the entrepeneurs of Kiva.  But until the stories and words are fleshed out it is too soon to know.

After spending a week away from Kiva, quilts and calendars I came back with fresh eyes - looking at the various options I have to say I much prefer the quilt option and voted #2 (a calendar featuring the KF quilt (and would buy 5)).

That is not to say that I think that the others ideas don't have merit, I just fear they have more weaknesses and quite a number of hurdles where we could still slip up.  I think they are well worth remembering for the future.

I particularly like the idea of a Kivafriends calendar featuring those special projects, but it needs more time to develop with more projects and getting the appropriate permissions for the previous/past projects.
