Buongiorno!

In any case, it's nice to have you on board!

ATTENTION KIVAFRIENDS - ENGLISH TRANSLATION FOLLOWS BELOW:

Ciao Gianni,

 Laugh
Note: Gianni originally posted in English but answered my Italian message so everyone feel free to continue in English  Grin

Gianni GG Baron was looking for ideas on how to spread KIVA in Italy and mentioned that "many Italians don't know English and aren't used to using credit cards online. He mentioned that he's using a kIVa footer in his emails and also giving out gift certificates so as to spread the word about KIVA.
I answered that I also used gift certificates and I've found it useful to spread the word.
Also, other KivaFriends have mentioned the idea of having the KIVA site available in other languages (and that many KivaFriends do speak other languages) but that for the moment it's too much for kIva.org to handle.
I also mentioned that it might be interesting to prepare a brief introduction to KIVA in other languages and perhaps post it at KIVAPEDIA.

Gianni - thank you for letting me practice my Italian  Party

Someone did in fact gather introductions to Kiva translated into a wide variety of languages...I think it might have been Julia, but I really cannot recall with certainty.  I also dont remember if Italian was one of the included languages...a lot of help I am--but I know its out there at least.

(Or Evelyn, were you inferring that this info is already up and accessible on Kivapedia?--sorry, just trying to be helpful  Undecided)

Edit:  Found it:

I find not direction in the readings of those with whom my eccentricities are similar, but rather validation.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.

Gianni

Hello Gianni and everyone,

From yesterday www.vivakiva.org, an Italian website of Kiva supporters, is online: this is how me and orders Italian Kiva Lenders are trying to promote Kiva in Italy.
This website is aimed to give some information about Kiva and microfinance, for people who don’t lend because don’t know what is all about, or, more simply, because don't speak English.

www.vivakiva.org cointaines many links to the dynamic sections of www.kiva.org (e.s. Lend page), and these pages are automatically translated using Google Translate.

This website is a “work in progress”, it is surely possible to improve it, so feel free to give us help and suggestions.

Putting the website online is only the first step, because the website need to be promoted and animated.

Pass the word, please!  Smiley

Laura

Ciao a Gianni e a tutti,

Ovviamente... PASSAPAROLA!!!

Hi Laura,
Although I do not speak Italian, I can still see that the site contains alot of information for our Italian lenders.  What a great job you have done so far.  Please keep up the good work and let us know how it is progressing.
