With incremental updates now being repaid, it's going to be more important to stay on top of repayments. I read that there will be a monthly statement of repayments, but to many lenders that won't be frequently enough.

My suggestion would be an e-mail notifying the lender that he or she now has $25 or more worth of Kiva credits. This should be a separate option for notification, so the other repayment e-mails can be turned off. No more spam, but immediate notification if there's enough around for another loan!  Thumbs Up

That's a good idea!   Good Post
I bet there's a lot of folks that don't track their portfolio as closely as some of us do, so they might like the heads up when they have enough to relend.

Hey I think this is a great idea!  I thought of the same thing myself and joined this forum to specifically try and request that.  Hopefully my bump makes this issue more visible.

Would this be a separate option to turn on by each lender?  Would it only trigger once, marking the threshold being crossed?

I think it would be best if the threshold of $25 was crossed, regardless of how many loans you may have currently loaned.  Currently, I get emails telling me I have $3.73 or a similar amount available to re-lend.  While this is nice, there is not much I can do with this amount when I want to reloan.

This definitely gets my vote.  Thumbs Up

It seems I get my monthly update about 10 days before I hit the magic threshold, so I have to remember to come back and check. I would love to see this additional option implemented.

I think this is a really good idea! If this is sent out e.g. only once a month it should be also fine for the bigger lenders among us who do not really need such a reminder. If it would be something like a daily reminder each day you have more than $25 in your account I would personally prefer to have the possibility to opt out of it as I myself e.g. would otherwise get nearly each day such a message from Kiva. And with having already enough emails to read each day this would be nothing I look forward to.

So how about implementing this feature but giving people different options in their portfolio if they want to get such messages at all and if so, how often?

I think getting an email just one time when the balance goes from less than $25 to more than $25 would be useful.  For small lenders they could get that message again each month that their balance remains over $25.  For larger lenders it would usually be just once a month unless you loan out all or most of it after th 15th and then get smaller credits later in the month.

I see no need for this feature.
Either the lender checks in often anyway, or you get an email when you get your monthly payback of credits.

For larger accounts, money trickles in throughout the month in enough drops that there are quite a few $25 increments created after the 15th.  Other times a smaller account may be less than a couple dollars away, and one repayment pushes the credit over that $25.  It is rather nice not to have to check throughout the month...especially if there are several accounts managed.
