I just started this new team. For a few days I was doubting whether or not to join the Christian Team. I am often going to an evening prayer in Taizé style, and do some voluntering for the local church every other week.

Although I am very inspired by the Christ and some of the Christian mystics and sages, I am not really Christian, I was never christened and don't think I ever will be. There are so many other traditions that inspire me as well.

Looking for another team to join I realised that there wasn't any religious team I felt I really belonged to, so after a while I decided to create a team I'd like to join.

I have no idea if others would like to join a team like that too, but here we go:

Kiva Lending Team: Inspiration
Location: The world
Category: Common interest
We loan
because:
We are all members of the same world family.
About us: There are many roads leading to the same destination. We are inspired by sages and mystics from many different traditions.

If you feel inspired to join you are most welcome!

I thought I would use this space to post some inspirational links I like.  Let me know if you have others you would add to the list.

I really love the Nourishment one! Smiley

On the Team's page we got onto the topic of fractals and were discussing Janet Parke's beautiful and inspiring works.  (For anyone not familiar with her work yet, see here: http://www.parkenet.org/jp/)  When I first came across her things it was through a Paint Shop Pro tutorial of hers, which I thought was no longer up, but I found it again!  It's on a different site than her fractal galleries.  On the Just Mousing Around site of hers she had a link to her Renderosity Gallery (where I was simply floored and amazed by what I saw of her work), which unfortunately no longer works so I guess she no longer displays there.

Link to some of her PSP tutorials on her other site, Just Mousing Around (the one I was referring to is the "Glassy Critters"): http://www.justmousingaround.com/tutorials/tutorials.html

Here's my snail (I used Janet's tut) and turned the little critter into a "siggie"/signature:

Here's another snail, but not made by me.  Just another cute snail.  Laugh

More links Richard may be interested in (maybe he has them already? Grin I'm the newbie at this  Wink)

Other Fractal Sites: http://www.fractalus.com/others/
Fractal Art FAQ: Programs: http://www.fractalus.com/fractal-art-faq/faq06.html

Just goes to show in how many different directions "inspiration" can take someone, huh! Cheesy  Posting these things here because it's not possible to post the graphics on the team's page itself.

Since today is Thanksgiving in Canada, I'm posting some things people can 'snag' (meaning copy and use) if interested; you don't have to be on the Inspiration team.  Since I made these myself and it probably doesn't show, but they took hours to do, so I just ask that no one take my name off and claim them as their own.  It's always best to copy them to your own computer's hard drive and then you can upload them to your own image hoster (I use the free Photobucket > http://smg.photobucket.com).  Not a good idea to copy my links because then the bandwidth for my Photobucket account (which is not unlimited) would be used up by other folks than myself and that wouldn't really be fair).  Hope this sounds agreeable and not too scroogy or anything.  I'm thankful for a lot of things Kiva has given me and these are not much, but it's a small way for me to share. Smiley

Thank you

William Blake quote

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

In the orchard and rose garden
I long to see your face.
In the taste of Sweetness
I long to kiss your lips.
In the shadows of passion
I long for your love.

Oh! Supreme Lover!
Let me leave aside my worries.
The flowers are blooming
with the exultation of your Spirit.

By Allah!
I long to escape the prison of my ego
and lose myself
in the mountains and the desert.
These sad and lonely people tire me.
I long to revel in the drunken frenzy of your love
and feel the strength of Rustam in my hands.

I’m sick of mortal kings.
I long to see your light.
With lamps in hand
the sheiks and mullahs roam
the dark alleys of these towns
not finding what they seek.

You are the Essence of the Essence,
The intoxication of Love,
I long to sing your praises
But stand mute
With the agony of wishing in my heart.
