This place might be as good as any to discuss some geeky issues folks might be having with http://www.kiva.org related to browsers, coding, scripting and the like.

For example, I keep getting the "Error on page" message with more than one version of Internet Explorer.  The "LEND $25" button on the LEND page, and the "REMOVE" button on the My Basket page don't work.  I get error messages like "Object expected" or "ajaxblablabla.js is goofy".  I have different versions of Java (including the most recent) on different machines, but that doesn't seem to matter.

Any Yoda's out there know how to clean up these script execution errors while using Internet Explorer!  Undecided Cry Roll Eyes

By the way, IE8 started crashing every time I logged into my work email from home  Shocked  so I bit the bullet and downloaded Google Chrome and made it my default web browser.

The Kiva site buttons work fine now, but I still have problems on other machines I can't switch from using IE.  Any tips on this issue still are appreciated.

p.s. Neither IE8 nor Google Chrome show any of the smileys here doing their little dances.  They're just frozen like they are under some evil anti-dancing-smiley spell!   Undecided  I wonder who knows where that setting is hiding?  Laugh Wink

I've also experienced these with the "Error on page" message, the "LEND $25" button, and the "REMOVE" button.

The LEND button output sometimes includes 0% repaid loans. Sometimes loans listed as available are oversubscribed--Raised so far exceeds Loan requested.

Just to let you know, my internet explorer started to have lend adjustment issues and even can't remove from basket issues.  Then I couldn't pull up kiva.org.  Now I cannot get hotmail.com either...sigh.  Tried two other browsers.  Probably need to change some settings.  Need the teenage guru to help out.

Looking into this now...

[EDIT]

OK, should be good to go.  From now on, use Firefox.  Hahaha, just kidding.

No seriously, IE makes the internets cry.  The world would be a much better place without it.

Thanks for the effort, Jeremy, but I still seem to be having some sort of technical issue with the LEND page, no matter what browser I use!  Cry

Now, on the rare chance when I actually can see a "LEND $25" button and click it, all that ever happens is I get the message, "Loan already funded!"  Huh? Roll Eyes Wink

OK.  I called my internet provider (DSL Extreme) after discovering that kiva.org and hotmail.com didn't ping.  The guru on line had me do a renew command in DOS, and he had me type some address for the two sites (numbers separated by periods).  Should have written it down, but I was totally confused until I hit DOS.  Plus the line was split with the modem which made conversation difficult to begin with.
